He reminds me of The Toy Cannon,Jimmy Wynn who used to play for the Astros. Smaller but muscular,hits the ball a long way. I just can't beleive how bad the Cubs have looked this year! The Key is the DLEE & ARAM failure to hit.

Love him. He is playing really well. Just got a 2 out double that lead to the Cubs going up 3-2 against the Reds. He is always hustling.

Byrd has been better than I expected. I really like the effort and he seems to enjoy playing the game, which is nice to see. Plus, he seems to be the kind of teammate guys would enjoy being around. I wish all the Cubs had his attitude, as well as his performance level....

he and theriot are the only cubs that have hit with any bit of consistency this year. he always plays hard and he always has a great attitude. i wish the cubs had a roster full of marlon byrds
