And that fucking homeless, cart-pusher of a manager can't figure out how to get him enough at bats.
Just like the POTUS, this team is also a fucking disaster.

Throw Colvin in at first base and sit Lee's ass once in a while. I don't care if Colvin has ever played first or not....it's first base. Try him out there....and see what you have. Lee is likely gone after this year...so it could be a bit of a trial run for next year. I'm not saying do this full time...but a spot start here & there wouldn't kill a team that is almost dead anyway.

+1

Lee won't be on this team next year. I'd bet it's either Soriano or Colvin at first next year. Might as well start getting one of them some work to sit Lee and get both Sori/Colvin's bat in the line up

I guess that I'm not completely opposed to this idea, though I don't have much faith in Piniella doing this. It's common knowledge that most of the time he caters to the veterans, so I'd be shocked if he even considers making a move like that. I'd be all in favor of getting Colvin more playing time, as the kid's proven (so far) that he can flat-out hit

With the angels coming to town this weekend its a perfect opportunity to let Lee audition for his next team. Hopefully they don't leave town without him.

Yes, well, we can thank Hendry yet again for his love of designing contracts containing no-trade clauses

I have a good feeling lee would agree to this deal in about half a second.

As an aside, I would not object in the least to the Cubs selling high on Ted Lilly right now either. I can only imagine his stock will decrease

Let's hope so, as the Angels obviously need a 1st baseman right now...

all veterans on this team should be open for trade consideration. lilly is a nice one to get hot right now leading into the trade season. he could have some decent value. the rest (lee, ramirez in particular) have been held on to for too long, i dont think the value is going to be there. that being said, get what you can for anyone now, the value will only go down from here.

The only times I have seen a player decline as sharply as Ramirez has this season, has been when a player is either a) older and reached that point where it's over...or b) the player had drug/alcohol abuse issues. it's hard to understand why at his age Ramirez would have struggled so much this season.
