I would have went with an analogy that makes Kerry Wood into Hitler but yours is sufficiently over the top for me. :salut:

I honestly think the next number the Cubs retire is #34

"What cost to the clubhouse"? You think the presence of Kerry Wood is going to be dangerous to a clubhouse with Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Silva? Come on.

Ron Santo was the poster boy for losing and he was in the booth for 20 years. Soak up the tradition folks. Wasn't Ronnie the definition of cubs failure? If I were a cubs fan I would concern myself with wood's pitching not his potential media work.

The guy is a loser. He failed in the biggest game of his career, home run or not. From Stone's comments, he didnt listen to his coaches telling him not to throw across his body and he was a damned china doll because of it. He brings in some of the media distractions of the past 7 years of failure. By many accounts, he is an assumed steriod user. While I am not a fan of Soriano, I dont see him as a distraction. Silva is only dangerous to the clubhouse because he might decide to eat one of the players.

Wood for $1.5 M as a setup guy is excellent. Stick to the game on ice.

What if. What if the Cubs won in 2003? What if you didnt shit the bed, then piss on the bed then dance on said piss and shit while singing Beck's Im a Loser?

The Cubs are a mockery of themselves once again. Sure, Wood might help you a bit in the bullpen, but at what cost to the clubhouse? I dont want to see the guy back. He is the poster for three of the biggest years of failure this team, and likely beyond, has ever witnessed. Its like your best friend murders your wife and after a few years, he gets out of jail and the court makes him live with you while on probation. Sure, he was a best friend at one time, but he murdered my fucking wife. I dont need to see him again. Good riddence. You know what will happen, right? Its already started. The media asks about 2003. We are going to hear it again. And again. Then he will be in the booth. And we will need to relive it. Again. And again.

We need to flush our old shit down the toilet. I dont want it lingering in this bowl. I hope Cubs fans boo this guy every minute he is on the field. I hope Cubs fans boo this guy every time he is off the field.

Have a happy Year 2.

Wow. That wasn't overdramatic at all.
