Mariners have an acquired Yankee prospect, and king Felix starting the next two games. Both doing horrible this year. King Felix struggling now multiple years. Bote not on the Sept roster is a surprise. Bruce Levine said Joe had an agreement with Heyward not to shuffle him around in the order. Apparently Joe and Heyward would talk today. Heyward has 600+ ab in his career leading off batting .249. Only a bit below his career average. Heyward would have nosedived wherever he was hitting I'm thinking now. Heyward has a chance this last month to be a productive leader. But I wouldn't count on it.

What is he hitting as a CUB in the one hole for his 3 plus years here?

Don't understand the Bote move.

The Castellanos trade has paid off big time, but there are too MANY negatives and inconsistencies with this team.

I’m hanging on just barely.

Very close to tapping out on the season.

He had to stay in AAA for 10 days or until the season ends. They had to send someone down to bring Zobrist down on August 31 (to be playoff eligible) instead of when rosters expanded on September 1. He had options.

A relative of mine pointed out last night that the Cubs could have easily traded for Castellanos in March if they didn't have any one of a number of bad contracts on the books. So Theo should still fuck himself.

why? They have a solid handle on the first wild card spot. And they have the Professor.

They will have to beat Max in the wild card game and their reward is a trip to Los Angeles and the Cy Young winner Ryu followed by Kershaw.

They might not score 4 runs in three games against the Dodgers, and will have the shitstain of being eliminated at home.

I hope I'm wrong, but the only way I see to the WS is to win the division and hope that the Cardinals can upset LA.

Sounds so simple and easy...they could have traded for him in march...no one has any clue what was going on in March. The Tigers may have not been willing to deal then...lots of variables at play. Plenty of things to be irritated with Theo about...but not trading for Castellanos in March is not one of them.

I do not get the mindset of being ready to tap out on a baseball season. This team is frustrating...completely get that. But they are in a pennant race in September. How quickly we forget the numerous seasons where at this point they were 15+ games out with no chance. This next month is like having playoff baseball for the rest of the season. You are getting to watch a team play meaningful baseball games in September. While being frustrated at their short comings, I am going to enjoy watching meaningful games down the stretch.

RFDC with all due respect, they can’t win on the road. The bullpen has prolly blown by far and away the most leads in the MLB. The offense goes silent for 2 or 3 games at a time.

Plus College football started, and a good Bears team is about to try and slay a 1st place schedule.

I am excited about both of those things, especially the Bears season. But as a fan you can be interested in numerous things at one time.

say what u want but this kid is goin' after it. He's attacking. I love it. He's pitchin' fearlessly , like he has nothing to lose. And he doesn't. What a biting slider to freeze Schwarber.

I'm out on this team. Hell, I am not even checking their score. And with them going to Sinclair next year- fuck 'em. College football has started and this Thursday the Beloved kickoff the NFL season. Hockey starts in a month too. The Cubs can go spit.

This is truly amazing. The 2nd straight year of the offense disappearing.

And the Cardinals continue to win.

Is it Bears/Packers yet??
