Andrew Cashner will have MRI on his pitching shoulder. Cubs "very worried" at this stage.

Being a fan of this team is the equivalent of being kicked in the nuts repeatedly. Fuck.

Wait what the hell happened to Wells? So it is going to be Coleman and who exactly coming up from Triple A?

Shark will be your #4 starter.

Elmhurst Steve tells me that Sharkzilla might not be that good.....and here I thought he was the future of the organization

There's a bunch of guys they could call up. Coleman is most likely. Maybe Carpenter. Probably wouldn't call up McNutt yet

Cashner: strained rotator cuff, on the 15 day DL

Randy Wells is also shut down for the next 5-10 days with a strained forearm. Casey Coleman to be called up

per the 10:30 update on the Score

Cashner, at this point, is a best case scenario type injury considering it was his shoulder.

Wells is just random and weird. Hendry being some emphatic that it's not his elbow makes me think it might be.

Even if they are both minor injuries that is a lot of starts taken by the replacements. This was the time in the schedule to put some wins up to help hold you through the rough patches this summer.

If the Cubs bandwagon was on Oregon Trail I would have just got the message that an oxen died and whistler has cholera.

Get Carpenter for sure and either Coleman or Diamond. If the fucking shark gets a start then.......then the other team is probably going to win by 15. I'd rather watch Z pitch with his fucking left hand then see the shark get a start.

Shark can't start because then they won't have him available to mop up the blowout.

I have been a Cubs fan since around 1967. I read this headline this morning and was shocked. Two starting pitchers? I really don't know how much more of this Cub
shit I can take. BF reports on Sorry-ano dropping another fly ball in another thread,Dempster getting smacked around again. The only positive is the 4 & 5 spot STILL might be in good hands with Coleman & maybe Marshall. It's not even the middle of friggin' April yet. OOOOOOHHHH NNNNNOOO!

another screball idea

Russell, but not Marshall huh?

Marshall's always been a starter before being bullied repeatedly to the pen

Russell's not a starter, he's a specialist

bring up Diamond...or even that black starter we got in AAA, forget the name...Jay Jackson or somethin

wow...that's all Hendry's fault...Cashner had no business being a starter...u dont do a 360 with a guy that has been groomed to be a solid late-inning reliever

when u make a 2-pitch pitcher into a starter, he feels he has to thow harder in order to compensate...this leads to arm problems...rotator cuff? forget it, he's done for at least 3 months

Hendry's bully ways come back to haunt him again..."we want him to get the starts", my ass...fuck u Hendry

the starts shoulda been Marshall's

or Coleman's...at least he's the first guy they brought up...I like him

I agree,Sean as a starter pitches 5 good innings then usually falls apart with a couple of bad ones mixed in. I would look at him first, though just to see if things have changed.

that is true, but Marshall has always been a starter coming up from the minors...he has a rubber arm with no arm problems, throws 3 or 4 pitches...and he gives u quality starts (albeit the 3ER, 6IP variety)...and who knows now, 3 years later, if he would have improved as a starter the way he did as a reliever...dont forget, he was an average reliever when he first went to the pen too
