I find this an interesting topic. I never thought he was a great player, but was glad for him when he got some playing time after Baker left. He was better than some of the crap thrown at us before hand. Then he became uber-popular, thus Bernstein turned on him for being a popular white guy. At the end of his Cub career he was not good and gets traded.

Now he is a Cardinal and spouting off about being on the right team. What a stupid move.

Was he really an asshole who wasn't good enough to stick around with Castro coming up or was he an ok dude who stuck foot in mouth?

Quade constantly jerking the line-up around might be more suited for the minors.
Despite being below .500,the Cubs do have some decent BA's. He should not be jerking around the lineup so often. Here is my lineup:

1st Fuks
2nd Castro
3rd Byrd
4th Aram (Still the Cubs best hitter,overall)
5th Baker/Pena
6th Barney
7th Soriano/LaHair (Bring him up)
8th Soto
