UZR still loves Javy this year. My Eye Test still loves Javy this year. All that matters.

Yeah, they seemed a bit butthurt when there is nothing in the rules to prevent Javy from harassing a base runner.

Not as much as by Corey Patterson.

It was easy to avoid getting burned by Patterson, just keep the flames at his eye level and he'd miss it every time.

Every fan base has these fans. Kind of like proclaiming this is the year of Giolitto's CY Young run

I’m still waiting for Bryan LaHair’s induction into Cooperstown

He is already there, right next to Gordon Beckham

Now we're comparing guys who had a cup of coffee in the big leagues to ten year veterans?

Their HOF case is the same no matter how long either played.

Come on JORR, you can do better

Nobody predicted the Hall of Fame or any type of greatness for Bryan LaHair. Some pointed out that he had a great first half one year and earned an All Star selection...which is true.

I'm reasonably sure there were Cubs fans here who wanted LaHair over Konerko on their team. That isn't HOF, but its definitely assuming some greatness.

No, you're remembering it wrong or Soxing it up.

We were arguing the all city team. Some writer picked LaHair because he WAS better than Konerko in that first half. Numbers don't lie and it wasnt about going forward. It was who had the best first half.

I stand by the bold statement. It wasn't all, or even MANY, but there were some for sure who assumed that LaHair > Konerko.

That was tremendous.

The lack of self-awareness from the announcers made it twice as good.

You won't get an argument that both fan bases have idiots.

I guess this validates Dan Fouts over Tom Brady cause someone said it.

RPB is just salty cuz he’s one of the Cub fans who wanted LaHair over Konerko going forward.

I think he is just legit really good now. Took 2.5 years of ML service time, but he has developed.

Javier Baez update: .301/.370/.753 (193 wRC+).

That slash line ranks seventh best in baseball ... one spot ahead of Mike Trout.

Exactly why anybody who says Moncada is a bust should be castrated, drawn, and quartered. Sometimes, it simply takes guys some time to figure things out.

Sure he has. But to get the very best of Javy, he should be at SS and Russell (who has a weaker arm) should be moved to 2B.. Russell is going to have more issues with his shoulder. You can see how he strains to make some throws and playing 2nd would allow him to make shorter, easier throws and make him less likely to have more shoulder problems.

No, he has not.

He played SS yesterday and had another error. He has a .937 FLD% in the middle infield this season. He is good defensively, normally. But he hasn't been yet this season.

He should be there every game. Just as Almora should be in CF every game. the 2 most important positions on the field.

8 errors now.

Baez has a negative UZR. Starlin Castro's defensive numbers are significantly better than Baez's

That error today was absolutely terrible. Major league players don't make that type of mistake. I'm wondering if he's been spending so much time learning how to swing at every single pitch thrown at him that he's neglecting defense.

He's the same as always, he makes some amazing plays but boots the routine ones too often. Addy has always been our best glove.. Keep Javy at 2nd.

Javy doesn't handle success well. He's such an arrogant douche that mild praise puts him back to the mindset of "fuck it, I'm going deep" on every pitch.

Its not guessing. He is literally swinging at every pitch no matter what. I told you this would happen as soon as it warms up and the balls started cutting away like they should.

He is not a disciplined hitter and never was so you are right. Some can improve than and others not. This really the part of the job that is hardest on a GM and the fans as well. Especially after you have gotten some rewards from a player.
