This morning on Inside the Clubhouse, Bruce Levine said that in a quarter of the games this season, the Cubs scored only one run or less.

I would be surprised if Chili Davis returns next season.

Now 3 hitting coaches in 3 years. I would find it hard to believe a credible major league hitter would restructure his swing 3 times for a new hitting coach two of which are no name guys. Tweeks I could see, discipline reinforcement help ok. That's why I wish the score had a solid MLB guy(no not speigs) for insight. ESPN 1000 has Derosa, but I don't think he's a regular.

Maybe they were hoping that by firing his pitching and hitting coaches and refusing to discuss an extension, he would ask permission to look for another gig and after finding one, they could mutually agree to void the final year of his deal and save 3 million? Say you have a job contract that was fully guaranteed for $100,000. Halfway thru the job, the customer came to you and said, "Look I don't like the way you are doing things, so here is $20,000 to take a hike," would you do that, or would you simply keep performing the work that you contracted and continue to collect your $100K?
