I think it is funny. No one seems to worry about K's and AVG. Sure they need to adjust in their call up. With all the Cub prospect hype there are 31 teams worth of pitchers wanting to sit their ass down. The forgotten factor in the plan. The other team.

Is this because of those nefarious baseball players wearing football numbers?

No? I see a TON of worry about those things on this board.

Do you only see what you want?

I dont, and I monitor this shit pretty well. Check out the Alcantara thread, nobody admitted they were worried. I just got an immediate defensive reaction about how his power won't regress, which won't even matter if they guy gets on base 25% of the time.

BY THE WAY, the power that he supposedly had found upon promotion...

July: ISO .173 Slug .427
August: ISO .153 Slug .347
September: ISO .083 Slug .222

It regressed. I was right.

Nobody should be worried about anything. If it's a couple months into next season and there has been no improvement, then its time to worry. I think pretty much everyone who followed the Cubs minor league system expected Alcantara and Baez to both struggle quite a bit when they were brought up. The hope was it wouldn't be as bad as its been.

Not everyone can be obvious all-stars like Marcus Semien right away.

You know, when Semien dips below or even flirts with the Mendoza Line we'll have that talk. But for now his problems pale in comparison to those of Baez and Alcantara (and he has much fewer PA that Mendy).

Semien has 276 career PA. Alcantara has career 249 PA.

Alcantara also has a higher OPS.

I did not know we were factoring 2013 into this. That would not be advantageous to your argument, I would advise against doing that.

bad sign when you're comparing a player to Semien.

I can crank up the Darwin Barney comparisons for maximum hilarity if anyone wants.

Aren't we talking about their successes and failures at the major league level?

If you're choosing only small example sizes, then so can I.

Alcantara had a .764 OPS in July. Semien was in the minors.

Alcantara is a versatile, up and coming star utility player. Semien is a career minor leaguer.

I never know what America is talking about. Living in Idaho would turn my brain into mush too though.

Up and coming star utility players typically hit a little better than .210.

How delusional are you Cubs fans? For real, I want to know.

Idaho is pretty terrible. The women all look like they're from the Midwest. It's like Wisconsin got drunk and woke up on a mountain range.

That's total bullshit. You dont monitor anything.

There are tons of posts on this board about Alcantara's struggles and stirkeouts

And my reaction to your power thing was two fold

A) You were basing a conclusion on something that hadnt occured yet.
B) You chose to ignore his most recent minor league power numbers in favor of the ones from 2013 that suited your argument

I was correct in both accusations. Thank you.

I was predicting that his power would decline. You disagreed with my premise. Then his power declined, as I predicted.

Just fucking admit it. It's only going to get worse in Cubs land, get used to admitting I'm right on these guys now and it'll be easier down the road.

It's odd how much ownership the Cubs have in his head. Perhaps that's why he moved to Montana?

Can someone tell me what a star utility player is? It sounds like an oxymoron.

If you are a star, wouldn't you just play your best position?

I wrote a lengthy post in the White Sox forum about the state of the Sox system in which I described 5 prospects who declined. Thats 5 more than I have ever seen a Cubs fan say are losing major steam. I made a post saying Andy Wilkins is worthless. I loathe John Danks. Stop making shit up.

Drawing conclusions on what if's is a dumb ass way to analyze baseball. You're dumb.

You're not right about much. You contradict yourself constantly and seem like an angry individual with obsessive tendencies about a baseball team that you dont like. Kinda weird.
