Say you have a job contract that was fully guaranteed for $100,000. Halfway thru the job, the customer came to you and said, "Look I don't like the way you are doing things, so here is $20,000 to take a hike," would you do that, or would you simply keep performing the work that you contracted and continue to collect your $100K?
