Joe Maddon loses at least 5 games a year constantly shifting lineups, ending hot hitting streaks, and pitching staff mismanagement.

John Fox isn't managing anymore.

I dont know where your Girardi love comes from but he was largely a disappointment to the Yankees. He won 3 divisions out of 10 years.

By every measure, Maddon wins more. And they both tend to choke in big situations.

I can be talked into getting rid of Maddon, but not for this asshole.

I don't see Theo having interest in Griaradi.

The Yankees went into rebuild/cost cutting mode and the Rays had a shitload of young talent that Joe couldn't do shit with.

They replay that Bernsie bit a lot where he goes on about Theo not being happy Maddon doesn’t listen. Specifically like he’s a troubled toddler disobeying but pitching Morrow three days straight. Isn’t that what score people used to rail against? A manager just doing the will of ownership/management?

Different times with Theo around.

my murky memory seems to recall Girardi having a weekly segment on the Score.

Listened to Murph's show today w/ Jesse.

They had some good insight on the offensive clash of philosiphy's between Theo and Joe.

Theo is a launch angle guy while Joe is a manufacture runs guy.

That Chili was the right guy for Joe but not Theo and it fucked up all the batters like Happ , Schwarber, and others.

Jesse was saying at least in Boston, the guys they drafted and got in FA can do both. Whereas the Cubs players are all launch angle guys like Bryant, Rizzo, Russell and they can't adjust to a get a hit not a hr philosophy. Whereas a guy like happ, who was suppose to be like Zobrist, they fucked up last year and tried to make him a HR hitter and that's why his K's doubled since the previous year.

So the Cubs payroll is a little tighter than many thought. Sounds like the’re trying to trade someone before picking up Cole Hamels $20M option. They should try to leverage that $6M buyout over the Rangers and make them take one of their awful contracts. Kinztler or Morrow would work. Or maybe Russell.

What? No the Yankees did not and you're obviously just not rational on Maddon.

Bullshit coming out of the mouths of Cubs front office and reporters.

- For 3-4 years their payroll was nothing when they tanked.
- Wrigley renovations are more or less completed and they've raised ticket prices to astronomical levels.
- New TV deal starts in 2020....

Seriously, rather than pulling your guy's chain the TV money might be a problem. If you look around the deals for other teams had initial money but did not go as planned and the cable cutting is a concern. Not to mention I have always felt that regardless of income the luxury tax is going to be frowned upon to some degree by ownership.

All true. And they won't pay luxury tax.

But it's bullshit nonetheless. They're raking in gobs of money off tour buses from Iowa and chads/beckys

Hard to bitch too much when they have the highest payroll in the league.

That's why they have to move some money. Picking up Hamels $20M option would put them over the $206M luxury tax threshold.

As usual most of you guys are sensible. You have to recall though a couple years back when trying to keep people in the faith of the rebuild how Bernsie would scream about money. Ans how it would not matter. That is what I laugh at now.

They're going over the first luxury tax threshold. They don't want to exceed the highest luxury tax bracket.

The Cubs are getting Cutch  at 3 years 45 according to that list.........and Chavez 10 over 2. They also have Moose turning down 15 mil for 1 year with the crew to sign a 2 year 16 mil deal with the Royals. What the hell sense does that make?
