That's the definition of "hope".

for me as a Cubs fan, Spring Training is only useful to evaluate if bad habits have changed. I'm not terribly caught up in success or wins and losses. In 1984 I think the Cubs did terrible in spring training. They're not going to contend this year, so I'm not sure what the uproar is. Wait until 2016, folks.

wins and losses mean absolutely nothing in spring training.

I make fun of everyone.

Nobody pays any attention to me.

Some SHOTS! Soler, Bryant...abusive!

Soler is just so damn good. Great eye, great power, great speed ....he has strides, not a home to first speed....but triple speed..lopes! Not davey...

Ferrell struck out on 3 pitches.
The Angels put all 4 infielders on the right side of the field.

Soler, Bryant, Russell, Olt, Castillo...all doing well this spring.

Hopefully, some team sees value in Castillo and can give the Cubs a solid prospect from somewhere in the low minors. I don't expect a near majors player.

Hitting 429 not good enough.

You tell me. Kris Bryant is hitting .500 with 4 HR and a double. Soler is hitting .417 with 2 HR. Russell is hitting .417 with a couple doubles. Olt is hitting .333 with 2 HR and a thousand walks.

I take my average with a large side of power, thank you very much.

But maybe it is unfair for me to compare other teams' lowly offenses against the waking giant. I'll try to be more sensitive to the southsiders in the future.

Isn't this a Cubs spring training thread? Why are Sox fans posting in this? Not interested in your team? You're really playing into the jealous little brother stereotypes. Go to your own forum and discuss those behemoths like Tim Anderson and Matt Davidson. You have no skin in this game. Unless you do...

Bryant and Soler seem to be the real deal for sure and Russell also looks like he will be a solid major leaguer. Baez still a major question mark.

All in all, lots of reason for optimism!!

Yes there is. It will all play out to the dismay of many who cling to 2005. Future is almost here.

Ok. This thread stinks of Sox fans hating the Cubs more than liking their team. Which is typical, I'm not surprised. If Sox fans could just go into their own topics and enjoy themselves they would, but they cant. So they troll the Cubs threads trying to stir up shit. I shouldn't, but I get annoyed reading the stupid shit they post trying to hate on the Cubs.

Hey Mr. Mensa I am a Cub fan.

I realize that. That's why my last post wasn't directed towards you. More towards Costanza and his ilk. They have nothing better to do with their time than talk about the Cubs, even though they're Sox fans. Must be an exciting time on the South Side.

I also look back on 2005 fondly. A full decade ago. The iPhone hadn't entered full development yet. Youtube launched. Barack Obama was unknown to all except politicians.

2005 was "literally" forever ago.

Which is why it is so important to never forget 2005.

I never will. I hope you don't either.

My first full year out of high school, in fact.
