here's a sleepy club with no focus and refuses to go from strength to strength. let's see if steele's mini-rant wakes them up collectively. happ and hoerner have started to pick it up and they need others to get going as well. we'll see if this professional club doesn't muck up a run-down and keeps track of outs. the story of the season tells us the cubs are likely to get 5 hits and score 2 runs today.

no surprise. the kings of strikeouts, pop-ups and 2 bounce ground-outs - 2 hits/1run over 7. had a chance early to jump on perralta, ran out of clutch hits for the week.

Having grown up a lifelong Cubs, my affection has dwindled, mostly because of Marquee, and I don't really pay attention.

But, am I understanding this? That fans, media, front office still are holding out hopes for, what? They suck, they have been at best mediocre for the past two years, but still wrangling the hands about being buyers? What is wrong with these people? 10 out in July. Fuck you.

I won't lie. I've given up on my team before. Somewhere there I started a "it's not me, it's you" thread about the Cubs. But I didn't become an Indians fan or KC fan or whatever to stick it to those crazy Sox fans. I just didn't care about baseball at that point.
