We might be able to add the Hendricks signing to the list of Theo fuck ups, eventually. I know they have no young pitching, but to give a guy who can't miss bats over 50 million seems dumb. He needs to be perfect to be of any value.

Hendricks has been pretty good for a while and absolutely dealt in the playoffs. He gets a pass.

Wasn't Theo's first signing Edwin Jackson too!!! I forgot about that one.

Hendricks was the last guy you'd think was set to regress. He's the type of guy who should be good into his 40s.

Strikeouts are victories. That was a hell of an AB by Rizzo. You would think you could just time this guys 96 mph fastball and hit it....but no. Bryant with another shit ab.

Bryant is awful. Nothing is hit hard. Missing heaters right down the middle.

He was awful last year and they blamed it on a shoulder that did not require anything other than rest to fix. He looks exactly the same this year so either his shoulder has been fine the entire time and the concussion ended him or his shoulder is still fucked.

It’s Chilli Davis’ fault.

Wasn't Webster going to be the return on a D Lee trade to the Dodgers that he turned down so he could collect checks at the Wrigley Country Club?

Well, 2-7 to start the season. Rough loss today, kind of lifeless. Get a decent effort from the bullpen, picking up the pieces from another shit Hendricks start. Bryant continues to be useless. Wilson is still swinging the stick, along with Zo. Baez and Riz not really providing anything either. Need a 4-2 homestand at worse. Looking for a 5-1 or 6-0, honestly.

Nice to hear Grote on after the game. 1 Billion x better than ZZ. Having him do the Cubs job is about as bad as employing Big Red.

Would San Diego deal Tatis, Gore and Paddack for Bryant?

I'd do it, SD wouldn't.

I went to the Saturday and Sunday games, had nearly identical seats in the 400s even with the on-deck circles nine rows up. Two very different atmospheres.

Saturday was a party for both teams' fanbases - Brewers' fans early, then Cubs fans. Hamels looked sharp other than the early HR. Yellich is better than any Cub, including Baez. And Heyward played out of his fucking mind, and didn't play badly on Sunday. There were some really questionable decisions by Counsell, both in terms of pitching changes and defensive positioning. Rizzo's double to left, there was nobody within 80 feet of the 3B line other than the pitcher, and Rizzo basically just stuck his bat out and barely followed through - almost like an extended bunt. On Sunday, the SS was in a more traditional position.

Kyle Ryan got overused by two batters on both days. And Rosario deserves to be demoted for that 8th inning.

Today was very sedate, other than a couple of Puerto Rican Cubs fans a couple of rows behind me having a game long heckling match with a few drunk Brewers' fans a few rows behind them. Hendricks wasn't getting any calls on the corners, and if there's a slightly juiced up ball and a slightly reduced strike zone, poor Kyle is a thin Paul Reuschel. Defintely more Cubs fans than Brewers fans, maybe 60/40 Cubs fans. The game was never really in doubt.

In both games, Bryant looked like absolute shit. Joe really should have given him Sunday off and played Bote, to both clear his mind and send a message. Bryant looked either hurt or disinterested, like he's just going to do the minimum to not get hurt and still get a decent contract in free agency. I spent most of Saturday night arguing that the Cubs should trade Bryant to the Twins for 3 of their prospects, plus take on Miguel Sano to help the Twins save face with their fanbase.

A lot of fans from both sides left after the 7th inning on Sunday, which made no sense in a 4-2 game. But it was easy to get out of the parking lot - I highly recommend the $25 lot on the 3B side off of Blue Mound is available for $19 if you buy the parking pass with the tickets, we were in row 6 and we got to our section about a minute after the first pitch.

The food is absolutely horrible. Not a lot of choices on the 400 level, and very bland. The only redeeming food is the bag of Sargento cheese curds.

The Cubs do not look like a division winning team as currently constructed. They will be in the pile for the two wild cards with 3 of the teams in Brewers/Cardinals/Mets/Phillies/Braves.

The calls were heated with Grote after the game with some Cubs fans. Debating Joe's moves , Q, Gleyber trades. Didn't mute anybody. He and a couple guys were talking over each arguing extendedly. He's got to be somewhat of a Cubs apologist I understand. I disagreed with a lot of what he said. But, I came away liking and repecting him more. A really good listen. Cubs fans really aired it out.

I rather listen to Big Red. ZZ is the worst by far.

That's too bad...I thought Milwaukee was always known for decent ballpark food.

Outside the ballpark, the tailgating is excellent.

A stop to pick up pizza at Balistreri's and eat it while tailgating is the best option.

Hader has gone 2 or more innings in 35 career appearances dating to 2017. He pretty much goes 2 IP as much as he goes 1 IP. Hader isn't a pussy, and it helps that it only takes him 36 pitches to get 8 outs.

If he wants to try and win the world series in April, good for him. Every reliever, it catches up with them.

You and ur dumb exagerrations. Shut the fuck up.

Vogelbach is a lifetime .210 hitter with 127 at-bats over 3 years entering this year, and he has a good week and u proclaim your bullshit.

exactly. this is the kinda thing that fucked up Andrew Miller.

Hader will be garbage by the end of the year and will for sure blow a couple or more playoff games.

Relievers dont last long as it is.
