Pat's been doing these Illinois Lottery reads where the tag is "how would you spend all that...time?" and just now Coomer went "I don't know how I'd spend the time, but I know how I'd spend the money!" to an uproarious Zach Zaidman laugh, but, like, you just steamrolled the whole point of the line, which is that when you have that much money, it's not about how you'd spend that so much as the free time you now have as a result of quitting your shitty job. I think the twist there is fairly obvious. This obliviousness is akin to channel-flipping, happening upon a porno film called The Sperminator, and saying to yourself "heh, more like the Terminator."

The Bryant home run was nice.

i'm bracing myself for when Maddon sticks to his predetermined plan and pulls Hendricks after 6 shutout innings and 72 pitches to hand it over to his overworked bullpen.

Who is even up today? She Shack has gone 2 days in a row. Chavez has gone 3 innings in 2 days. I'm guessing its a Mills, De La Rosa, Wilson day but he would let De La Rosa go 2 if he was pitching well.

big swing for the cubs to hold off 2 on 1 out in the top of the 7th and then turn around and get an insurance run in the bottom of the 7th. especially with hendricks most likely not being too long for this game!

This is such a huge game for them if they close it out . Forces Milwaukee to sweep .

Bud Norris got hurt. Such a shame.

When he is on a roll, Hendricks is by far the ace of this staff.

aren't the cubs up just 1 game and a tie results in a game 163?

also hey another 2 runner inning for hendricks in the 8th and he's actually allowed to pitch out of it?!! wow. i think his last pitch of the inning was #99 so i'd be shocked if he was able to come out for the 9th.

I was floored that he was allowed to go out in the 8th - that's a pretty old-school move for Krazy Joe, and I love it.

Hendricks is at 104 pitches with the bottom of the lineup due (Wong, Bader, PH), and doesn't have to start until the NLCS. I think he stays out there until he gives up a base runner or hits 115 pitches.

Hicks has evidently decided that he would rather walk guys until he's taken out than let Bote hit one to Byron's Hot Dogs on the fly.

When these guys are actually focused on winning they look pretty good.

This looks like a real playoff team today.

One would hope that De la Rosa can get 3 of the next 8 batters out, and then all the pressure shifts to Kyle Davies to not fuck up against an anemic Tigers team.

Maybe it's a Bernie Mac deal and the kids are those of the crackhead sister?

Lol...I think a grandparent may just be behind that.
