I need him to finish out the regular season along these same lines (sub 3.25 ERA let's say) in order to feel good about him in the rotation next year and on. But we've all been happy with his last month.

Having Heyward and Darvish now performing the way it was hoped they would when they were signed, is almost like they signed 2 new players. Both are now key members of the team and reasons to think they have a chance in the post-season.

as I said elsewhere, Darvish has pitched 5 innings the last two outings and hasn't exceeded 6 in more than a month. This isn't why you signed him to THAT contract. He is usable but you are deluding yourself if you think he is living up to what was expected at the time the contract was signed.
