If Bryant doesn't play Friday, they need to put him on the IL and back date it. They need another RH bat on the bench with him out, although it was good to see Nico play 3B today.

Don't be surprised to see them add a veteran RH 4th OF/1B type, either to the 25 or 60 man. Someone disposable they can DFA when/if Souza gets healthy.

I had a dream last night with Kris Bryant in it.

I was at some amusement park riding a carousel and when I got off it, there was Bryant asking me how I was doing and if I was fine. Very reassuring attitude and friendly.

I looked down at the amusement park game area (shooting, throwing bags at bowling pins) and felt some kind of anxiety of what I would find there. I wanted to go but was scared to for some reason. I think a girl was involved. Maybe fear or rejection.

Can any of you psychologists interpret this dream for me?

Kasper and JD just agreed Happ has been the best player on the team this season.

he still has a little trouble staying off the high heat...

Didn't he used to wear the elbow guard? Of course, he doesn't on Tuesday and gets hit on the elbow, putting him out.

Feels like he is close to just being shut down for the year.

It was a nasty bruise. Ross kept him in the game. Didn’t effect his hitting. He still struck out.

He looks like the player from 4 years ago again. Maybe he's finally over the head beanball . Great to see. Problem is do you trade him or take the first 2 months of the season thinking this is the him youre going to get the next 5 years if you try and re-sign him or is he just bucking up for the contract ?

He finally stopped listening to the Cubs brain trust and went back to his original non-uppercut swing and is destroying high fastballs again. And I do think that the time away from 3B is helping him stay fresher.

Given how difficult it is to find a good hitting CF, someone will offer him $270M/7 to mostly play CF and occasionally 3B/1B. Something like 120 CF, 30 3B, 15 1B/DH. Pick up a Marisnick type defensive CF who can hit lefties to be the fifth OF.

Personally, I'd like it to be the Cubs, but I don't see a path to that happening.

The first two weeks of June will probably let you know if they end up selling. 13 Games vs Padres, Giants and Cardinals. Season could be over after that stretch. I could see a scenario where they keep it together. They could also white flag it in July with Bryant, Baez and Kimbrel even if they are in contention for the division. Though I doubt they will do that if they are in first. Bryant will go to whoever pays him the most this off-season. If it is the Cubs (doubtful) he will sign back here. He will not take less money to either stay here or go somewhere else.

He might not want to play center though. I think his preferred spot is third base . That will also play a factor in where he'll go but usually yes, its whomever will offer the most cash regardless of where he's comfortable. My guess is west coast team.

Certain people spew hate towards Bryant. His numbers have collectively been excellent as a Cub. Towering over Heywards, who is a cult hero, for being such a great guy. Bryant has made less than half the money as Heyward as Cubs.

Heyward is treated differently than any other bad money bust. Was praise gushed on Adam Dunn, Laroche, Danks, Edwin Jackson? He's a hero to his community, and liberal score hosts, since he became a sjw. He's been propped up more than any other bad money bum for defense, leadership even before being a sjw. Compare how Bryant is treated and mocked next to him.

You don’t know the actual meaning of sjw.

He is treated differently, he should be getting pounded unmercifully. Everybody knows he sucks, he is no cult hero though.

Look at Bryant's treatment. Look at Heywards. Do the math. Listen to the next Larry, Parkins, interview of J-Hey. Its like they're talking to Jackie Robinson. Bryant's slumping swing was constantly analyzed on the Score. Heywards rarely if ever. Multiple articles, segments on Heywards community contributions. Bryant's, Rizzo's many mostly ignored.

At least Heyward had a 1.6 WAR in his first year with the Cubs. Pathetic, but better than Bryant's -0.1 for his first 1.3 years with Colorado.

Heyward sporting an .822 OPS this year and on pace to have a higher WAR this year than in any of his Cubs years. Either the banning of the shift is saving him, or the Cubs coaches fucked him up.
