Imagine what the Cubs line-up could do if it was anchored by Eloy.

Eloy would even still be a defensive upgrade based upon what I have seen from Schwarber this year.

They can't unload everybody, it will just flood the market and they will bid against themselves. A first round exit or being swept in the NLDS, and it's time to back up the truck.

I would trade Rizzo (Miami?) and move Bryant to 1B for a year to keep him healthy until the trade deadline. Heyward has 10 & 5 rights after Sunday, and Caratini has regressed so you can't deal Contreras absent a rebuild. So only Rizzo gets you young pieces back. Bote, Baez, Hoerner, and Bryant in the infield, and Kipnis probably comes back for a one year deal to effectively back up all four infield positions with Nico moving around and Happ as the emergency infielder.

As far as Schwarber goes, if there is an NL DH in 2021 then I keep him and shove him into the 5 spot in a platoon. Pick up a free agent bat to play LF and hope that Brennan Davis is as good as advertised after the 2022 work stoppage.
