Bob Brenly replaced Stone at WGN. He was fairly soft in the beginning, but I seem to recall him speaking fairly critically at some point.

Stone as a smug asshole, but he was not out of line here.

Not sure....I also remember once referring to a play made by the Cubs "well, that's just.....stupid!"

so apparently this was also the last FSN Chicago telecast.

I often wondered when it ended. I thought it was later on, around 2009 or some shit.

I liked FSN better than theis Comcast Sportsnet and NBC Chicago bullshit.

Why does shit change so much.

Are the other FSN's still alive? FSN Midwest, FSN Ohio, etc?

3:37:45, ad for Vineline.

I miss Vineline. Then Ricketts came along and destroyed everything.

My brother and I scalped (racist) dugout seats for that first Nomar game. Maddux was on the mound going for 300 that same game. The tix were $300+/each (we weren't actually in the dugout, slightly behind).

I think Nomar got one hit, Maddux didn't get the win, and the Cubs still won late in non-historic fashion.

I didn't even get a Nomar selfie despite the fact that I met him and had a short conversation before the game because I don't think selfies existed at that point in the human existence.

Just a microcosm of the 2004 Cub experience for me.

Was that Nomar game part of a double header? Thought it was, vs Marlins. Think Wood pitched one game and can't remember other vs the marlins. Maybe it was the same series. Took the train in to see the games and sat behind Marlins bullpen. Game two starter got lit up ad the whole time he was warming up the pitching coach was shaking his head. After he went in the bullpen coach told the fans that it might be a short outing, It was.

Nevermind. My memory remembers the games right but they were in September. Split double header. That was a long flipping time ago. And it was Prior in the nightcap. Probably was first game I saw with Nomar (Perhaps last as well) which is where my mind was probably thinking first game after trade.

Disney bought them from Fox, then Sinclair bought them from Disney to satisfy antitrust laws, and then Sinclair sold the naming rights to Bally. There's no more regional Fox Sports Network, but all the channels are still around as either Bally, NBC Sports, or AT&T Sports.
