This was a great move.

Pie can go down to the minors, where he will be forgotten, open up a friendly bar with Ty Griffin and Brien Taylor and Earl Cunningham, and become 1/4 the new owner of the Cubs.

He can then fire Hendry, Lou, and Yosh, tear down Wrigley, and annoint the new stadium "Pies Palace".

Dont like it. You can keep him. He always misplays the ball. Going in and then having to go back towards the ball. Pie has a better BA and has come up clutch in a few games this year. In the 8th or 9th spot I dont mind Pie. We dont need this dick.

Maybe Edmonds will run into the brick wall in center and we can be done with him.

I think they're going to give this a month before they make a move. The best thing about this deal is that if he blows or shows obvious signs he's struggling, they can kick his ass to the curb and lose barely anything in the process.

If he does play really well, I wonder if you package him in some deal to acquire another starting pitcher of Marquis continues to wet his pants?

Nice catch, saved a few runs, but damn you would think God came down and made the catch himself. He was at the bottom of the hill when he caught it and yet to run up. Pie would have made that catch easier.

Len kasper was comparing this catch to Reed Johnsons earlier in the year.

He makes every catch seem harder than it really is, so he can get on the highlight shows. Every play for him is a dick picture.

it was a tough catch. i am sure pie could have gotten back there, too, but it was a tough catch for any center fielder. im not a fan of the jim edmonds experiment, but to say he was hot-dogging it and trying to make that catch look more difficult than it was is plain ridiculous.

Yeah, like that one they show over and over again where he dove towards the wall and caught it over his shoulder...what a fucking show off...

He does tend to take the "scenic" route to the ball to have a few more circus catches, but anytime you make a catch on that stupid hill, its a hellava play. Not to mention that the thing is something like 420 feet from home plate.

Right on the money. There is no way he was hot dogging it to make it look good.

Kornheiser just had a great quote about Edmonds catch...something to the extent of "why is there a hill in center field...what is this, american gladiators?"
