Harden looks great, he throws that high 4 seamer for a lot of K's it will lead to 2-4 walks per outing as well unfortunately

Man the combo of that filthy changeup and a high 98 mph fastball is just about unhittable.

Just started watching, sounds like Harden is doing well. Good job so far in this fourth inning.

Jimmy Edmonds on fire, I guess I'll drop my homophobic hate for him the rest of the year!

5.1 innings, 10 Ks, 0 Runs, less than 100 pitches, nice ovation from the crowd.

Sounds pretty good to me.

Solid outing today. Its nice seeing an early Cubs win (most likely). Puts just a little more pressure on Brewers and Cards.

i have no idea why they went with Marmol with a five run lead - then he gets in trouble and you have sean marshall getting ready? and for what? once you get to a point where you might want to change pitchers, you dont use him?

also, marmol is getting squeezed big time and obviously frustrated.

a poorly managed inning by pinella.

My only thought is he is trying to send a message. What that message is, I don't know. Marmol has been horseshit for a month. Maybe he'll be the guy that gets sent down after the break. Fuck.

Oh, and Theriot is horeshit, too. What the fuck was he thinking? He made a good play to keep in on the infield and they still had the lead. What the fuck? Eat the goddamn ball. Even a good throw, and the guy beats that out. What an idiot. He is absolutely terrible at shortstop. Fuck.

I hope the Cubs lose this game. These guys fucking blow. Fuck these 9th inning heart attacks by asshole bad teams like the Giants.

If they win this game, it may be a win, but it's NOT a victory.

Marmol better pay for Harden's next week's worth of meals, booze, and hookers.

Marmol needs to be sent down tonight, then he can work on his stuff during the break, and maybe rejoin the team next weekend. This is twice this week alone, that the Cubs have had a dominating pitching day, until they bring his ass in. This is a joke, walking and hitting guys. Theriot should have never thrown that ball from his back, only the special players make plays like that.

What I don't understand if Wood is unavailable, why did Lou go thru his bullpen like its the 7th game of the WS.

Gaudin pitched 2/3 of an inning and Cotts retired the only batter he faced. It would have bee nice to have Cotts or Gaudin in the 9th.

I would DL Marmol, just to give him a mental and physical break. His slider seems flat and his fastball looks like it lost a little pop.

Right now he is not helping the club.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: "Derek Lee hits a lazy fly ball to centerfield." Horseshit.

Nice thing here is that Marshall can probably go 5 or 6 innings if they need it...

Fuck it, a horseshit win is still a win. Nice job by Marshall.

Whoa! For all you A-holes that liked the Harden trade because of Guadin I would never let him take the bump again. Blowing a 7-0 lead to the Midgets is not good..The 3 best teams in the NL are in the Central.Be very very afraid of the bullpen.

a win is a win, even if it was a crap 8th and 9th inning.

Marshall continues to pitch well, if he gets sent back to the minors it will be a crime.

Hey jackass check the stats again, it wasnt Gaudin that did it. Hart and Marmol gave up the runs.

The exact same thought crossed my mind - why is Marmol pitching in a non-save situation? Marmol has pitched 52 1/3 innings (including today's game) but what's more concerning is his 49 appearances in just 93 games. No other reliever(setup or mop-up guy) has been call upon as often as Marmol this season. I liken relief pitchers to guns - you only have a finite number of bullets regardless how big and/or strong said gun is and once the ammo runs out, it's game over. Pinella is gonna burn this guy out.

You are one pussy hair away from the foes list, dude. Go to Yahoo, read the line. And post afterward.

Marmol was the goat.

And I still say this may have been a win but not a victory. This was horseshit. Lou needs to get his head fucking checked and these guys almost need to have a goddamn 10 run lead in order to feel safe to win any game with this bullpen.

I know i'm ranting but here's my level headed thought: when marmol goes bad, it does seem like the whole bullpen has NO confidence.

hey 100 year loser 7-0 lead and 2/3 of an inning~!!!! I will look forward until the key to the trade pitches again.Maybe the next time he pitches he won't have to face the mighty Dan Ross!
