Soriano batted in the top of the inning. Why is he still in there? He misplayed that ball into a run. Lou is a boob.
If you are not going to use Gaithright why have him on your roster? Not to mention, Lou has used 6 f'ing relievers this game.

Cause none of the fuckin relievers throw strikes. Gregg blew 9 saves last year he's got one this year

This Gregg guy is not impressing me at all. We let Kerry Wood walk for this piece of shit?

Oh Kevin Gregg looked great in spring training. So fucking what, he looked like shit last year. Yet again Lou blew this game not knowing his own team.

It should have never come down to that play. Once Lou starts making bad decisions, he just keeps on making them. Where's Jesse when you need him?

I fucking hate how he manages the Cubs, using 7 pitchers in a nine inning 3-2 game. WTF is he thinking sometimes?

Why not have Marmol try to bunt so Hill advances to second? Soriano comes up with 2 men in scoring position and a base hit gives the Cubs a comfortable lead.

Derrek Lee: 0 for 4, 1 BB, 3 K, 3 LOB...That's a nice robust .118 average for your # 3 hitter...

Fine, whatever, in any event, you don't pinch hit for him at that time. And if you do, you hit Hoff-Power, not a slap-hitting Miles.

Why is Gathright replacing Fukudome? Of the 3 outfielders in the starting lineup, you would think it would be Bradley or Soriano that takes a seat. Lou did this on opening day too and I just find it bizarre.

Agreed Soriano or Bradly should have been taken out and why keep Michah on the bench? Why not have him pinch hit for Marmol instead of Aaron fucking Miles?

Me too, Lou has no clue. I only wish Jesse were there to ask him about in the postgame presser. I always thought Lou was a smart baseball man. Does Trammell talk to him about strategy or are they both boobs?

Sorry for arguing semantics. I agree though. Keep Marmol in and have him pitch the eighth, and save the bullpen. I don't understand using Miles in that situation either. Glad to see Brenly had similar thoughts. Maybe that's the guy who should be managing the Cubs?

They should have left Heilman in instead of bringing in Cotts.

I agree, but Lou just can't help himself sometimes. He has to play the matchup game, even when the lefty doesn't do real well against lefties.

Yeah, it's always good to leave a small village on the basepaths.

Lee is terrible!

As much as this game blows, there are some positives:

-Harden looked really good
-Koyie had a nice game with a big homer
-Fukudome had another good game.

OH NO! This is a game 4 CATASTROPHE! This team is in deep shit! Lee sucks! Miles sucks! Gregg Sucks! Cotts sucks! Lou sucks! We should all be freaking out because a good team NEVER loses a tough game in April! They never lose EVER! This is horrible! How can Babe Ruth Hoffpauir be left on the bench? He is such a proven great clutch ball player! How can you give Aaron Miles a chance to hit and actually contribute in such a must-win pivotal game in April? Neal Cotts should never be allowed to pitch again! How dare he get innings to try and see if he can get the job done, so that later in the season Lou knows if he can be relied upon? Kevin Gregg put in the worst performance in the history of the franchise! We should have Kerry Wood back, because his debut with the Indians was so stellar! Lou Piniella should never manage! He should just leave Marmol in there for the entire game, and show no faith in the rest of the staff! That goes for the whole team! The bench players should just sit on the bench for the entire season and never have a chance to come in and contribute! April is NOT the time to be trying things to see what the make up of the team is! It isn NOT a time to be playing guys to see who you can count on down the stretch later, when it counts! you should be wearing out only the proven guys in April! Each game is of the utmost importance, and only the most proven commodity should be allowed to play in each game! Lou Piniella is CRAZY to be testing the mettle of his ballplayers by actually putting them in situations where they need to produce!

Everyone on this thread is correct, we should all be horribly upset with this terribly costly loss!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

PANIC! PANIC!!! PANIC!!!!!

This game would have been a nice win. Vizcaino got some big outs and Lou did a masterful job handling the RP he kept bringing in. Of course it's early, but sit D.Lee
down one game, just to keep "The Hoff" fresh. Soriano made a nice running catch in LF with men on today also. I think overall the Cubs are looking good. Lou needs to settle on
a pinch hitter though. You got Hoffpaur to hit, send him up there in a situation like today to hit,not Miles.

Today was just one of those games. Cubs hit a bunch of balls hard right at Brewer fielders. Cubs will win Saturday and Sunday and open up at home Monday 4-2. Anyone who blames Gregg for that loss today is pretty clueless about baseball.

Also the OBVIOUS reason he pinch hit Miles instead of Hoffie is if Miles is a SH. If he uses Hoffie the Brewers bring in the lefty and then Hoffie is done. Good smart move by Lou, just didn't work today.

It's the 4th game of the year. Everyone needs to relax.

Greg has had 3 appearances, and has been shitty in all of them. I think its time for the switch to Marmol.
