You are correct. A lot of people may hide the fact that they would be uncomfortable having a Black or Hispanic person in their home or place of business. They would never say a word about their discomfort. But the next time they wanted to have work done, they might well call another contractor. I would rather not have that happen.

But imagine you had minority subcontractors because they do great work and have relatively low rates. If a client openly said that they don't want minorities in his/her house - even though you know they're the best you've got - would you tell them "no problem" and accept the work or would you decline the project?

My question was morals/ethics vs. money. If you're willing to discriminate in your hiring practices to try to get repeat business, that's your call, but it's not respectable or likely legal (don't know there, but screening out applicants based on race isn't right regardless). You value money over fairness.

And you're really no different from a racist customer, because you're hiding your own racism by negating the issue with a purposely-hired all-white crew.

I very rarely subcontract work, as I always want to ensure the quality of the work. If someone else does it and I am not able to supervise and check on things during the job, things can go wrong and then ultimately I lose that customer. Plus, the customer called me, because they want my guys doing the work, if they wanted another crew they would have called them. It can be a problem that way too.

Am I willing to discriminate in hiring...hell yes. But it's not limited to the pigmentation of someones skin. If they have sleeve tattoo's-NO WAY. If their hair is styled in a mohawk or it really long-NO WAY. I try to present a professional image to customers and part of that is having clean cut, well groomed employees, that customers are more likely to welcome into their homes and places of business, rather than feeling uncomfortable around. Is it legal-maybe not, according to equal opportunity laws. But I do things in the manner I feel is best for business. Morals/ethics dont pay the mortgage.

What Bradley SAID this year to various reporters did not bother me in the least. I think if Jim just laughed it off as "MB being MB",this would be a non-issue. The Cubs could have gotten something for him later in the off-season. Now he is radioactive.
His mother defends him because that's what moms do,especially when your son gets 10 mil a year!

Well at least now we get to see where Milton gets some of his crazy from. Guess the rotten apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

It should certainly be liable. I hope that every parent and teacher of that school join in a lawsuit against the bradleys.

First off, the word is LIBEL. Bradley isn't guilty of Libeling anyone, because he didn't name anyone specifically. Therefore he cannot be accused of damaging anyones reputation, since that person was not identified specifically.

Now the word you use Liable, is very different. It means apt or likely to. Like: Frank Coztanza is liable to post something stupid. That would be a good and accurate use of liable.

Its not a grudge, its a loser human being who clearly thinks he is better than other baseball teams fans, and people of different color skin.

So he made a funny, big deal. Even a broken watch is still right twice a day.

Do you mean a stopped watch? Because a slow watch might be wrong for months before it's right again.
Someone had guessed that Steve Might be slow, therefore it is conceivable that he is right less that twice a day.

Lets face it Frank, it's all the crap I send your way that really bothers you. You just use anything you can, to try to run me down in return. You pretend to be outraged by stuff that probably doesn't really bother you a bit. But it's ammo in your eyes and you are not gonna waste it. The thing is, when I get redemption in someones eyes for a clever remark or for whatever reason, it wasn't made to get that response. It was made simply because I wanted to Make it. If someone wishes to compliment that post, should they go back and review all previous posts to determine whether the posting party should get any credit...ever...for anything? Or should they treat each post as a singular entity, worthy of either praise or disdain on merit? I would think the latter....

See, now that was a good line. I'm sure one that a number of people might concur with as well. I have certainly had issues with DS in the recent past, but I can also give credit where I think its due.

No. What bothers me is you saying and believing things, and seeing nothing wrong with it at all. Bottom line is, you are the definition of a loser. Maybe you think having a wife and Daddy's business and a house and some radio noteriety doesn't make you so, but you are truely the definition of a loser.

Have fun hoping you'll get to cubbie heaven or whatever catchy phrase you want to use for the cubs in 2010.

Your opinion of me is truely inconsequential. I am a very happy person and content with my lot in life, so I see no reason to alter anything. I love this life.

As far as 2010....I need to see how Ricketts sets the payroll and if Hendry is dismissed or allowed to stay on and what moves he, or another GM makes to this team, before making any predictions for next season.

But I am toying with .....Wrigley Field-The Champions den in 2010! Or don't ask when, it's 2010! or Franks girl blows other men in 2010...no, thats old news.

If you were, it would be of no consequence on this site. I give credit to those I feel have made a worthy point or amused me with a comment/line. I have even given Frank credit a couple times, when I thought he was on the money with some comment. I have busted his chops a hell of a lot more though. It's just a lot more fun. Plus, he supplies a lot of the material himself. He really sets himself up for a lot of it. Hell, the same can be said for me too though.

Stark On Bradley & Zambrano
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [September 24 at 12:48pm CST]

ESPN.com's Jayson Stark hears that the Cubs will likely try to move Milton Bradley for another "problem" player this offseason. Eric Byrnes, Pat Burrell and Bronson Arroyo haven't been discussed, but they are the kind of expensive player the Cubs might consider trading Bradley away for. There will likely be takers for the unpredictable outfielder, despite his year-long struggle in Chicago.

Stark hears that Bradley's teammate, Carlos Zambrano, is far less likely to be traded. Baseball men say the Cubs have never shown any interest in dealing the big righty, so he's likely to be their Opening Day starter once again in 2010.

What's with this Pat Burrel love?? He went to the AL because he's one of the WORST defensive players in baseball and now these idiots want him dealt to the NL to share an outfield with Alfonso Soriano?? How many DH's does a NL team need?!?

It just names some other "problem" players that teams MIGHT want to deal. It states that talks with those teams have not taken place, but they might be teams with an interest. I agree with you about Burrell, but Arroyo has pitched well the past 6-8 outings, going 7 or more innings each time out, and with a good ERA over those starts. He's a guy I would certainly take in return for Bradley.

Burrell is not the answer to anything. But he has 1 more year at like 8 Mil left on his deal. And he is not as big of a knucklehead as Bradley. Lets face it the Cubs are not going to get anything useful back for Bradley.

Actually, if Dusty Baker were to be retained as Reds manager, Cincy would be a perfect fit. Milton could do whatever he wanted in Cincinnati and Dusty would coddle him. And it's the small market Milton desperate wants.

Arroyo is mediocre, but that's fine at the back end of your rotation. Then you have Gorzelanny in the pen and Samardzija waiting in the wings in Iowa.
