Not until Ricketts is done "evaluating what he's got". I wonder how the evaluation is going so far?

Time for Ricketts to act like a owner and make some moves. Hendry needs to be fired for the roster he put together this season. I agree with Mac, Lee is soft. For being the leader, he has set a horrible example. For being in a contract year, this has been a joke. His fielding has gotten bad, and his hitting has been non existant.

Lou and Hendry won't be around after the all star break.

Lou may resign, but doubtful. He doesn't won't that on his record. Hendry won't be canned until after the season unless they decide to hire the fired AZ GM Josh Byrnes. That would require aggressive recruiting which is not a Cubs MO. It wouldn't surprise me if Ricketts keeps Hendry as opposed to eating the money either. We'll see. The season's over in 3 months.

Theriot has to be retarded. He gets thrown out at 3rd again, for trying to advance from 2nd on a groundball to the left side. This has happened several times, someone needs to explain the baserunning rules to him.

This has been so Cublike. Get the first 2 outs of the 7th and then throw softball practice to the next 10 batters...and it ain't over yet.

I'm not sure anything can be done. Ramirez is broken again, and doesn't seem to be particularly good at baseball now anyway. I don't know what Lou walking off into the cornfields does for you. Nobody cares. I'm not sure why we do. This team makes me want to punch someone in the throat.

I am at a loss, too. Firing Lou midseason isn't the answer. These guys will fucking blow no matter what. I actually feel sorry for Lou.
However, I would fire Hendry right now. I don't want him to oversee anything having to do with evaluating returns on trades. He needs to go stick his head into a bowl of gravy and suffocate.

I won't put any blame on Ricketts until the trading deadline passes & moves aren't made. There's no one on the roster who is untouchable save Castro and Colvin.

Is there any evidence that Brenly is a good evaluator of young talent, or that he has an extensive network of scouts to hire immediately upon becoming the GM? The 2001 Diamondbacks were very much a veteran team that needed little instruction. Do we know how well he does with player development?

Girardi flamed out in Florida working with a young team. Granted, it wasn't all his fault. He might be better suited for the job if/when the World Series window opens again. Too bad Ron Gardenhire is under contract next year or I'd throw a dump truck of money at him.

Agreed w/ Drop In. Things had to go perfectly for the Cub to even compete in the weak NL Central. Hasn't gone that way.

We have at least more years of inflated contracts that hinder us from picking up some working FA talent. Colvin is nice and all but we don't have 4 or 5 more of him on the farm.

I think Lou would have liked to make it to the end of the year. Starting to think he is going to have to pull a Tampa Bay move to keep any sanity he has left.

glad to say I didnt watch one pitch or listen to one out during the whole game today. Fuck you Cubs & Fuck you Rickett's. My tickets are sold...and I will consume very little cubs baseball until football starts up at the end of the month.

Piniella is done, the players know it....Hendry should be launched...and the players know it. Someone asked what good could be done by piniella leaving...I say the sooner the better. I dont blame him, but when a team gets like this and you know what is going to happen...why wait? dump the shit!

While Colvin has been a surprise, he is brutal in the field. He has misjudged balls, and today he played a double, into a triple, by taking a horrible angle.

Girardi wants to be anywhere but the Yankees? I can't see him leaving there for here under any circumstance.
