I think they know they need to "win" the trade but it doesn't seem like they've made a real effort to resign him. To me, getting guys like Garza is very hard and forget signing them as free agents unless you are willing to offer 5/85-100M.

Keppinger is a good ballplayer. And frankly, he'd be playing at least twice a week so Castro could watch and learn. Right now they lack a backup guy who can play SS.

The Cubs would be a better team with Keppinger. I enjoyed watching the Cubs sweep the Sox and listening to the hurt in Hawk's voice.
