That's very perceptive of you. In this case though,I'm not comparing Girardi to Tracy. I want Girardi,too. I'm comparing him to Manny Acta & that Hinch guy. Tracy is far better managerial timber then those two,IMHO.

He is the only one available that can accomplish 2 of their main goals at the same time. He can teach/develop players during the transition to competitiveness while still trying to win and then he can lead them once they are ready to compete. Most every other option would be one or the other but not both.

Rick Renteria looks old as shit but he really isn't. I like him over Acta. I like that he managed team Mexico in the WBC. That was a fired up balls out playing bunch. I think will be able to relate to the ENTIRE team. There should be a harmonious blend of all nationalities with him. The asian relievers don't count. I'm sure Castro and others rolled their eyes at Swaimer and had a hard time identifying with him and likewise the US players would do the same with Acta. I'm interested in his relationship with Rizzo from their short time together in SD.
