The Cubs remind me of the that Family Guy clip where they make fun of the Mets, where after the first pitch the announcer says "And the season is over!"...

Wow he froze Alvarez up and in. I've seen him hit that one into the Monongahela. Must have been looking for something else.

Are these new road uniforms permanent? If so, epic fail. The previous ones were classic.

That would require hitting the ball over the Allegheny and all of downtown Pittsburgh, so you probably haven't.

Heinz Field is right by the confluence. PNC Park is firmly on the Allegheny.

PNC is gorgeous. I think i'm elevating it to #1 in a theoretical ballpark draft.

It's all in the location and panorama. Beautiful backdrop.

I'm in as far as this retro looking thing they got going on. I'm sure Pittsburgh could have really fucked this up. Growing up as a youte, those monstrosities in STL, CIN, PIT, PHI et al were atrocious.

It should be interesting watch Junior Lake this season. Would be interesting to see if he could put it together a bit and be a respectable starter for a full season.

The problem with the retro parks is that they become the new cookie-cutters. Coors Field or Ballpark in Arlington, for instance, are perfectly forgettable parks. Then there's Minute Maid park and its gaggle of contrived bullshit.

Regardless of whether the bullpen blows this or not, it's just very comforting to know that Carlos Marmol does not have a chance to pitch for the Cubs today.

The bullpen can lose the game but the offense has is keeping pace with the robust production of last year.

Olt replaced with Valbuena. When Valbuena is the offensive upgrade, you know you are screwed.

Did walk though.

Aaron Boone sounds like a young Barry Rozner.

Castillo protecting the nuggets a little better on that last pitch.
