The real point is that the conditions overwhelmingly favor the pitchers and you want to compare ERAs and WHIPs complied in this game to two poor guys who happen to pitch on a night when balls are flying all over. IMU logic.

Seriously? WTF is the point of a centralized replay center with 100 screens if they're going to ignore the correct call? Just better to not waste everyone's time and do away with replay.

Now they just get the calls wrong in New York and waste three minutes rather than getting them wrong immediately on the field.

Wrigley's bipolar nature is increasingly frustrating

Park conditions make baseball great.

That's my biggest problem with replay. The goal doesn't need to be "to get every call right". Baseball is like life. It isn't always fair. But it evens out for most of us. Let it be messy and imperfect. That's part of the charm. But getting it wrong even with replay is like a slap in the face.

Right, but they can also fool people into believing that a guy pitched better or worse than he really did. Guys who bet horses appreciate conditions and their effects more than most baseball fans.

I'd like to see the Cubs win a world series. Would they be the Yankees with a ballpark they could build around? No. But its certaintly nit ideal

All these little things (day games, the bipolar park, the terrible facilities) they are all small but they add up

Plus its been 105 years, maybe try something else

I do believe the ballpark playing two completely different ways about half the time each has played a part in the Cubs futility. One thing though, really good pitching will play anywhere.

It's criminal that Ventura has Abreu out of this game even though he looked pretty helpless vs. Samardzija.

Ballsy fans to have stuck around to watch a 1-1 game in early May. Work day, 40-some degrees, and, what, 5 total hits tonight?

Hopefully somebody starts a "CM PUNK" chant just to amuse me.

This is the kind of game where a guy like Valbuena or Castillo hits a homer down the line to win it when the wind slows down for a split second.

...and Bonafacio hits one deep that the wind blows back in.

You can tell by his body language he got all of it.

Tough conditions, hitting one out to left would have to be Babe Ruth (he used to call his shots, allegedly) level, or Bonds in his prime, type crushed.

I either heard a fan yell, "GAHD DAMMIT!" or "SHIT YEAH!" after that walk.

Bernstein wants MLB to play the world series in a neutral-location, climate-controlled park.

I'm not sure he actually wants that, but he would argue it as some sort of obtuse way of maintianing his intellectual superiority.

It's MLB's first season with an NHL style war room. When the NHL first went from in-arena replay to the Toronto war room a decade ago (yeah, there was hockey before 2009), it took em a bit to get it sorted. Now they usually have the call ready to go before the players finish celebrating the goal.

ugh. You cannot change pitchers after one batter in a game like this. Position players will be pitching soon

Grimm should be able to give you 2 or 3, as should Villanueva.

I'm not sure who Grimm is. He's apparently on the mound in a tied MLB game.

Quick scouting report: he looks like a guy more comfortable throwing to 1st than over the plate.
