Baez- I'm not a believer in him.. He's shaky on defense and @ the plate. He needs to go.

Would you move Rizzo and keep Schwarber at 1st?

I have to say, that was something I considered for a minute or two. but I don't deal a guy who hits 30 HR, drives in 100 and plays a great 1B. Schwarber can play a decent LF after some more work out there. If Adam Dunn and Carlos Lee can play OF, Schwarber sure can.
Dunn and Lee? If that's the comparison then I'd move him.

I don't think Scorehead was considering him.

Never thought of it... Interesting tho.

You hadn't thought of that, but you've thought of putting Schwarber at third?

Is Russell a "great young hitter"?

Does Russell count as a "great young hitter"? He batted .242 this year.

I know it would be frowned upon by many, but if I were pitching Murphy would have gotten drilled in the ribs. All his bitching to umpires, stepping out on pitchers and worst of all....far too many hits. He needed to be tenderized.

No.. Schwarber can't play 3rd..that was sarcastic..his arm is weak as fuck. His arm is too weak for the outfield and 3rd base..he is D.H. and Emergency catcher.

Cubs are close but going to have to add a big arm and bat this off season.

Heyward
Cespedes
Gonzalez

Price
Greinke
Zimmerman

One of those pitchers or perhaps Lackey, who you did not mention. Cueto is coveted by some, but not a guy I would target. I would not go after a hitter, unless they are going to trade a guy like Schwarber or Soler and that opens up a spot in the outfield. Then A-Gon or Cespedes would be the guy.

"all the bitching to umpires"

Have you see Joe Maddon this series? He's been whining non stop.

Lackey ? 36? 37? ... Pass ...this team needs an Ace for the next 3-4 years.

He would be the 2nd pitcher to add. One top of the rotation guy and a 2nd guy via free agency or trade. I like Lackey for that spot on a 2 year deal.

They cant go forward with an outfield of Schwarber - Bryant - Soler.

Might as well start making up the "butcher shop" T shirts.

No reason to trade anyone at this point. Holes can be filled in FA. Half the team were rookies. You don't just trade them after one season.

Castro and Baez need to go. Bring in a veteran 2B to match with Russell. They should probably hang on to Soler for another year and hope his trade value goes up.

I can see Castro being of interest again to some teams and if you can package Soler with him for a top of the rotation guy, that works for me. Castro did a great job after switching to 2nd base, so I don't go giving him away. I have to get a decent return, or he comes back to play 2B.

Who is the top of the rotation guy you think can be had for Castro and Soler?

Wow. Just saw this. You could get quite a bit for Castro. Soler? Not so much.

Heyman on the Score this morning said he didn't think you could get much for Castro. He said the general consensus around the league is that he is not an every day SS and so would only draw interest as a 2B. I don't necessarily agree with him but I am repeating what someone with league wide knowledge of the league said.

While he's built his rep back up a bit, you're right, you're not getting anything frontline for Castro alone. He probably gets moved for some young 4 or 5 starter that you think can make the jump to a 3 under your tutelage.

The problem with Castro is, as a buyer, you are taking a leap of faith with him. That leap of faith is owed $40-50 million more.

Maybe to the Mets for Harvey. Castro takes the spot at 2B that Murphy will vacate and Soler takes a corner outfield spot.

I don't always read your posts. Are they always this funny?

37 (last year is a team option) over 4 years for a starting second baseman is reasonable.
