Players get pissed, and while you're all convinced of Maddon's genius now the Cubs won't be the FUN LOVIN' GROUP OF SWELL OL WHITE KIDS next season. Infantile shit like a magician or clown won't make Jorge Soler feel better about all the future dollars the Cubs are costing him.

My guess is these 27 guys might NOT agree with "FUN LOVIN' GROUP OF SWELL OL WHITE KIDS"

Neil Ramirez

I think Neil fits in with the whites.

Is Soler so proven that he couldn't be put in AAA for a year?

It would be a nice problem to have but the odds of injuries making this all moot are high.

You have all four guys plus Montero and Ross (because Schwarber would catch more) to stay healthy for this to be a "problem"

And Soler is probably the most likely to get hurt if history is any indicator.

If simply talking about a team makes you a fan of said team, you're like the 2nd or 3rd biggest White Sox fan on the board.
He's probably #1 in that regard.

Well he didn't swing at a pitch out of the strike zone ALL spring training last year. So he has that going for him......

Yeah, I agree. A trade would be far more likely than a demotion.

They cannot help it. Pity them. Don Cooper will fix it. No problems on the south side.

That, or his pillows and couch cushions all have a picture of Theo's face painted on.

Soler is out of options, he started on the 40 man from the day he was signed.

Barry Rozner told me this weekend that he had Schwarber challenging Harper for the home run crown. How do you sit that bat?

Just in case anyone forgot, Rozner checked his team allegiances when he became a writer.

So the Cubs now have three hitters competing for the Home Run crown this season? Who do I root for?

I guess they're counting on another injury for Stanton. Dude had 27 homers in 74 games last year.

27 Homers in 279 abs. So he should hit about 60 this year.

not only that, Gordon Whittenmeyer today told me that there is doubt in the Cub organization that Heyward is a better defender than Almora

Dan Bernstein thinks that all pre season talk is ridiculous but he has heard some amazing things about Manny Ramirez this year

I want to be fair: he did give passing reference to Stanton as well but Schwarber was going to be there with them

Barry told me that Rizzo is already a beast and Bryant was there as well. He then said he would get to White Sox talk during his show but I only had about an hour to listen and he never quite got there.

Programming should reflect interest. Barry was just doing his job properly.
