Stop looking for the fucking walk. This modern approach to hitting pisses me off.

Quintana will be fine. He ain't Koufax but who is? He's just a 3/4 starter not an ace.

Eloy has yet to play this season and Cease is just a bullpen arm. Prospects are suspects. Remember the great Karl Pagel? Plus the cost control with the Q contract allowed us to get Darvish, assuming he gets his shit together which is a separate question.

It's absolutely infuriating that Maddon is still running Happ out there almost everyday at leadoff.

Prospects may very well be suspects. But everyone, who is objective, knows what Q is...a .500 pitcher.
They gave up too much for a fifth starter.

Another shit start. 3 full times through the rotation and it has been real bad. Chatwood can't throw strikes. Strop took his usual ass kicking from the Cards. The weather excuses should start flying anytime now.

Why the hell did Maddon allow Heyward to bat after the Cardinals put in a lefty in the 8th? They had Almora on the bench, who hits lefties very well. Instead, he has Heyward bat, he pops out and THEN he sends Almora up to bat for the pitcher. Of course Matheny .then switches to a right handed pitcher and Maddon counters with LaStella who strikes out. Had he sent Almora to bat for Heyward, we get a match-up that works in the Cubs favor. The lefty had just entered the game, so he has to pitch to Almora, if Maddon h

Strop oughtta be embarrassed.

He got DeJong to look foolish on two sliders away and then on a 1-2 count he threw a fastball middle-middle.

He's a strange guy to watch. He'll clobber mistakes, but his contact on strikes and approach looks horrendous at times. And this is after watching Grichuk at the plate for a couple years.

I'll take a 120 wRC+ SS any day.
Looks like Sano clubs things other than women

so no game today?

I wonder if the Cubs took their day off in a disinterested and dispassionate way like they've done on game days this season.

Javy moving up in the world ... this kinda resembles a traditional lineup.
