ok so when i threw out those pitch counts i assumed De La Rosa didn't pitch yesterday. He did....he pitched more than both of them combined. Someone is fucking with Joe on those advanced scouting sheets.

I wonder how many guys got the day off as in didn't even have to show up. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't just giving some of them off days.

Going to have to put up a W every single game now since the Brewers refuse to ever lose and have a shit sandwich schedule the rest of the way.

Usually Jeff Brantley works a few innings of play-by-play on WLW. Now that's bad.

Brantly used to have the worst hair when he played. It was that greasy curly shit that Cousin Larry used to sport.

Great win, and great start by Cole. The starting pitching will have to carry this team the last 15 games, or the bats need to heat up. They need to take advantage of the Reds, White Sox, and Pirates.

The starters are really going to have to nut up and go 7 most of these games. Contreras and Russell need to go out and get crushed and bust their slumps. They have been replaced by Caratini and Bote which is just mind blowing. Bryant has gotten his groove back even though he isnt a power threat. Rizzo has been good and so has Z. Murphy is pressing but should rebound. They need Heyward back. Even when he is terrible their winning percentage with him in the lineup is off the charts compared to when he is out of it.

He said in the pregame radio interview that all of the usual suspects needed a night off, so it was going to be an unusual group tonight.

Murph made some good comments on his show today about Almora. He made 4 bone headed plays base running and fielding in the last 2-3 games and should be on the bench for happ. If he's getting benched for Happ, then he's pretty bad since Happ sucks as well. I tend to agree. I was one of the biggest Almora supporters and wanted him to be the regular day lead off / CF but after seeing that this guy can't hit for shit consistently and has some of the worst swings at times, I got to say Joe was right about him.

Murph shit on Willie as well basically saying other than the arm, Caratini is the better catcher RIGHT NOW and Willie should be on the bench the rest of the year. Murph also shit on Murphy saying other than the first week, he's not done much and when Heyward is back, Zo will probably get moved back to 2nd.

One good point Murph made about the pen is Montgomery. That IF they make it into the playoffs, Montgomery will be moved back to the pen which will be a big plus for this team.

I wonder what joeball sitting for long spells and shuffling have done to almora. He's been shit on by Joe when he was thriving and a sparkplug

The rest of the year will be all about joe. If you're a longtime Cubs fan they're known for September swoons. Joe's got a ton of talent to work with though.

The bullpen is now rag tag. Hope it holds up rest of regular season. If morrow, strop, and montgomery are added to postseason bullpen look out.

All the early season games Joe blew hopefully don't bite the team in the ass now.

Looking forward to listening to Murph tonight.

Pregame on the score was a riot. De larosa was unaware he would close Friday night. He said "I dindt no dat"
Joe had a praise-a-thon with coomer. He praised Jamie Garcia's debut start lasting 1/3 inning(3 walks, 1 hit). He praised Dylan Maples 12.27 era this year.

weakest lineup of the year.

Joe must have heard murph today and did everything opposite.

cant score a run vs reds scrub but k 10 times thru 6.

maybe vs their pen they can get their head out of their asses.

dont waste this start by lester,

Great job Lester. 7 scoreless innings. Gave that bullpen a break. don't think he's coming out for the 8th unless they score a bunch of runs this inning.
