Zobrist is always a guy you want up there in the clutch. Even if he's 90.

While it’s not a big win per se, it’s a game you couldn’t lose .

Kind of reminded me of a Cub game in '91 when Dawson hit a grand slam in extra innings against the Pirates in Three Rivers. I figured the Cubs had the game won, but they still found a way to lose.

I feel badly for Ryan, he was clearly not supposed to pitch today after throwing 3+ innings in the previous 3 days.

I expect that if Chatwood goes on the DL they'll bring Rosario back, then maybe bring up a hitter for the next couple of days for either Ryan or Webster.

Why can't Cub pitchers run bases without hurting themselves? Strop, Lester, Chatwood. Maybe questions need to be asked of Tim Buss and his staff why some players can't run 90 feet without breaking down.

Buss is kind of a joke. He looks like Chris Pontius with his out of shape, hungover looking body hanging out of a thong while leading team stretch.

Let us not overlook that, had Zobrist et al not told Joe to start Bote, Z wouldn't have been available to help make the victory possible.

Rizzo was on with Kap. Great player, big fan. Sounded like he just got up. Kap had to pry responses out of him. Dry as dust.

No, that’s pretty much every week .

Absolutely. The shoulder is good. To be accurate, I said he would contend for multiple MVP awards and win at least one or two and be an All-Star multiple seasons. It is looking more and more like he will be playing more in the outfield than at 3rd, with Bote looking so good at 3rd and hitting as well as he has. That is convenient, with Descalso looking good so far to play 2nd (perhaps with Russell platooning and hitting against left handers and in games against right handers he matches up especially well against) and Zobrist playing more sparingly this season.
