didnt see the game but reads like a bad night for the pen.

this teams pen may be a streaky one.

if they go 2-7 again for the next 9 games where the pen blows all those games like they did the first week of the season it wouldn't surprise me.

They are going to lose games.....if you consistently win series you are going to be in great shape. Of course I want them to win every game, but it is just not possible

How you win and how you lose is also important. Who you beat and who beats you is also important.

They are not going to win every game. The Reds pitching has been outstanding this year now that they snagged Derek Johnson from the Brewers, whose starters now suck.

However......

Get Heyward the fuck out of the leadoff spot. He has dropped about .060 pts in batting average since Joe made this atrocious decision. Why must you go and fuck things up man. Leave well enough alone already.

Kyle Ryan better get his shit together or move to the mop up role. He doesn't get asked to do much but he comes in and puts guys on, exits and then someone else has to clean up his shit.

Baseball stupid came into the game in the 10th with runners on the corners and swung at a junkball on the first pitch and ended the inning. You have not played the entire game. Either see a pitch or 2 or at least sit dead red on a fastball. You look like a god damn fool swinging at a down and in slider. Wily would be phenomenal if he could just gain a few IQ pts.

I think its time for a few roster moves. Zagunis is just a dude who gets an AB ever 4 games, makes an out and then sits for another 4 games. Bote can be that guy. Get Vic back for Davis this weekend, DFA Webster, send Zagunis down, add Dewes to the 40 man and then call him up. Tonight was a spring training lineup with Rizzo out again. Its time for a few small moves.

unfortunate game in so many ways. All was good for the most part, until the bottom of the 8th. Then Ryan walks the leadoff hitter and Edwards once again leaves hit fastball up and can't locate and BOOM! Then in the top of the 10th they get 2 runners on and Contreras swings at a tough pitch and ends the top of the 10th. Then, with Votto on first a ground ball is hit right past Bote. The ball was hit sharply, but it would have been a double play to end the inning if he gets it. Instead, it goes by him and then when Bryant makes a good throw to 3rd to cut down Votto going to 3rd, Bote is unable to handle the throw. Not a great sequence for Bote, who I consider a good fielder normally. After that, it was going to take a strikeout or double play VS Puig. Very unfortunate. Looked like a win after the top of the 8th, where Schwarber added an insurance run. Go get em tomorrow and take the series. At least Darvish looked good for the most part.

Heyward is on pace to have his worst year as a Cub...and that's saying something.

Score this morning was trying to sell this s a bounceback game for Darvish. Are kidding me?
5 1/3 innings with a 5.14 ERA....and a no decision is horseshit.

Awful spin job.

It was a bounceback / good start. 11 K's, no walks... the Reds just ended up hitting a couple doubles in key spots... had those 5 hits all been singles, he would have given up 0 runs. Those two doubles might have been the only hard hit balls, too.

Darvish has generally been terrible, but he was good last night. Certainly good enough to "win."

I too am encouraged he only managed a 4 ERA against the worst hitting team in the league .

The Reds have the best ERA in the NL, and Darvish outdueled them while he was in the game, and was in line for JORR's favorite stat until the 8th inning. So that must mean Darvish is the best pitcher in the NL.

Maddon started winning too much and was scared he'd get an extension. He's taken steps to rectify that in the last week.

Are you fucking kidding?!

Three runs in the bottom of the 5th for Cinci to take the lead...and make the game official so they can call it due to rain?!

WTF

No way they are calling it due to rain. The storm is moving thru rather quickly, they will get restarted.

No comments on Willson's inability to block pitches in the dirt...especially considering he called for the pitches to be low?

David Ross would be hammering him for his lazy attempts to glove the balls of this was a Monday ESPN broadcast.
