Desperate move and one not easily made both physically and financially. Chance of happening? 0.102%

Not happening, otherwise it would have already. The Cubs are handcuffed until (or IF) the sale of the team goes through - We're forced to play with what we've got, so we're pretty much fucked...

Are you sure it's not Hendry who handcuffed this team??

Hopefully not - I'm trying to be optimistic and think that they'll run his ass outta here before he can

Actually heard a great point on the Murf show yesterday.
The caller claimed that the Cubs were not handcuffed at all. A team like Pitts or KC or Fla is handcuffed by a $30 million dollar payroll. The cubs are handcuffed only because they took a ton of high priced talent knowing that by doing so they've decreased their flexibility in a situation, well like the one they're in. The price of all that high payroll is not being able to make the deals midseason.

Agreed that is what happens when high priced talent does not perform up to expectations and or spends more time on the DL than on the field. You can't just keep throwing money after overvalued players and hoping that is going to be a fix all. Another random thought I think Hendry and the Cubs were not counting on the regression of Smardzija and were penciling in his production in the bullpen but obviously that plan backfired as well.

I watched the 8th and 9th innings to see if there would be a meltdown. Watching the Braves, I realize how much I miss their games on TBS. Was nice to have a regular third option for games if both the Sox and Cubs were playing poor / wrapped games.

Nice win, but this team sucks. We can't get a sac bunt down. Last night Scales failed to do it, and tonight Theriot couldn't and Fontenot had 2 at bats where he couldn't. This team needs a kick in the ass.

As much as I've ripped on D-Lee, I'll give him props for the heads up baserunning play in the 11th. I thought he was nuts for tagging up from first. He made the play though and it ended up being the difference last night.

Lee has also really been hitting well lately. 13 hits over the last 10 games. he may not have the home run stroke he once had but hes still a solid hitter and thats all that should be expected of him these days.

its also been nice to see fontenot hitting the ball much better lately too. if he can keep it up remains the question.

I'm still not sure if Fontenot is a full-time player. If he is, maybe he's a second half hitter?

Was good to see Soto actually throw someone out when he came into the game last night. Maybe he is starting to take the articles written about him and the fact that Lou said he is going to sit him down personally.

hes not a starter on a team that wants to win in the playoffs. if this is the nationals or pirates we were talking about yeah hes good enough to start but not for this team. unfortunately he has to be an every day player right now.

REALLY BAD = Cubs rain delay. I took a good 10 minutes of my time to watch cubs rain delay "fill in" which happens to be the monsters in the morning. I hate north without question, but love sports talk. The 10 minutes I watched was all about north and his BS "schtick" that only confirms my reasons for trying to avoid this piece-o-crap. He looks and acts "retarded" at times....and I guess I can say that because I have donated to the special olympics.

Point of the matter is....I am NOT a fan and dont appreciate the rain delay coverage. Give me the old world series highlights please!

North Sucks!
