Between winter ball, the WBC and Lou running him out there in 8-2 games you have to figure Marmol's arm is ready to fall off. He may need a DL trip just to rest his arm for a couple weeks.

Wow, one of the few times Gregg did not look awful, thankfully he only had to face one hitter.

Marmol does have good stuff, at times amazing stuff. I think his whole deal is between his ears.

I think Marmol is just a classic case of over-use. He has electric stuff, just sometimes there is a short. He needs some extended rest and maybe the All-Star break will just what the Doctor ordered.

Lou has been saying that he needed to get Marmol in MORE games to get him sharp. With all his herky/jerky movements in that delivery of his, he may need to pitch more often than some to stay sharp. Lee has been very good for 6-7 weeks and would be missed if he has to sit tomorrow. But with Hoffpauir and Fox, they have a couple of guys who could fill in for the day. Then Lee will have a few days off for the All-Star break and should be okay. Should be a great pair of games tomorrow. I hope Z has one of his better games in the early start.

I think LaRussa is looking for a split, having Wainwright pitch in the late game vs the rookie Wells and not against the guy most would think of as the ace-Zambrano. But I feel more confident of getting a good start out of Wells. He's been very good, in winning his last 4 straight and has the better ERA as well. Maybe LaRussa's strategy will backfire. I know the stats say the two games will be split today (I think the % of games split is over 75%) but with Z and Wells going, they should have a real chance in both games.

Nice homer by Hoff to start us up in the 1st, but Z is giving it back with walks, and a careless pitch to the 'riod man.

Z hits the big one that keeps him swinging for the fences for his next 30 fruitless AB's.

I have. Thats why u have a glove, have, and shades. This team looks horrible when it's in the sun, and we play more day games than anyone. Huge game tonight. To take 3 of 4 would be great, so the bats need to show up.

They (the Cards' Ryan in particular) also acted as if it were a novelty. Being there, the wind was swirling about. It seemed to be blowing in most of the game, but it was never consistant.
Nice to see Prince Albert pull a Buckner. That was delicious. The failure by Pujols to be perfect in every way compelled a tacet moment from all of the Cardinal Nation present. Soon to be followed by their hasty exit.
Wonderful!

You should go find something constructive to do tonight at 7pm. Far away from a phone, computer, radio or television.

You dont think it looks a bit whiny on your part to call him the roid man with no proof whatsoever? I agree with Darko, I think hes just that damn good.

I hope he is. To find out otherwise would be dissappointing indeed.
