So Emilio Bonifacio is the Cubs version of Alejandro De Aza. Have fun with that.

Actually it didn't seem to be some long, drawn-out affair like a typical football replay session .... though 'one' is not a useful sample size.

I don't think that was conclusive. I agree that it's likely that his glove hit him but I don't think any angle definitively showed it.

In football, I don't think that's overturned. Either MLB just needs to get the hang of this or they are going to use a different standard of review.

Ah. I see that now. Good start for the Cubs. Should have that top 5 draft pick locked up by July 1.

What happened? ESPN play-by-play says it's mid-7th? How did they lose? Rizzo half ass covering 1st?

Got pulled from my audio for a meeting.

I could only comment on the 'timeliness' of it ... no visual on my end (a 25-year old alarm clock radio picking up Mars as well as the Cubs game) ... fwiw Pat Hughes 'thought' they made the right call via the replay.

I think they probably did as well.

I'm just curious if they are going to take a more lenient approach to reviewing these plays in order to be quicker with it.

There was no angle where you saw the glove hit him. But, you could tell from the direction of the sweep that it was likely that it hit his shoulder before it hit him in the face.

It will be interesting to see how this works. My initial thought was it was striking how few good angles there are on a baseball play vs. football play. I'm sure different types of plays will have more angles but this one had 2 angles for a first base play. You'd think you'd have a reverse-type angle from the RF side of the play, but no.

I don't think that was all that egregious.

I'd say that's the appropriate way to celebrate a walk off homer...

Forgive us Cub fans for not knowing the correct way to celebrate a walk off homer. Cubs don't have alot of those on their way to 40 wins.

We should consult with the Atlanta Braves. They would know if an unwritten rule was violated.
