I suppose you were too busy touting the Packers draft to notice just how different and how much worse the Sox lineup was when Eaton was out.

I hear what you are saying, but its not just a 31-30 record. Its that the MLB team has been almost totally revamped in one offseason. The Cubs didn't have Jake Peavy to trade, but the guy the Sox got for him hasn't been on the team since April 10th. Its the other moves that have Sox fax excited. Its that the entire team (except for Sale who was good in 2013) looks completely different from how they looked last year.

I think the Sox way underachieved last year. That wasnt a 63 win roster.

I expected them to be decent this year. Right around .500 and if everything breaks right maybe 88 wins

Noooooo, I'm just showing you how if a Cubs fan was excited about Adam Eaton, Avi Garcia, or Davidson they'd be laughed at. There is one (1) new addition who is exciting. Everyone else either sucks or is injured.

I forgot, there was that week of so of Marcus Semien love. That was a thing.

Cubs fans are excited about guys playing in the minor leagues.

Sox fans shouldn't have to apologize for being excited for the guys getting it done at the big league level.

When ya get right down to it, no fans should be mocked for any emotion.

OPS is great for Abreu too.

Lots of people expected more from Castro given how he performed when he first came up.

...He had a .755 OPS his rookie season.

He has a .741 OPS right now.

I forget what official 'difference label' I had for .014 but it isn't significant.
It's always a good sign when a player regresses from his rookie year.

.773 OPS!

Progress!

I wish all my Starlin Castro posts from years ago weren't deleted.

What a player.

.787 OPS

Only Bogaerts, H. Ramirez, and Tulowitzki have a higher OPS as SS than Starlin. And only Tulo has a "far superior" OPS.

Very rarely do I give a fuck about whether a guy is an All star or not, but considering his season last year... Pretty cool that he is an All Star.

I still don't like him but he's having a real nice bounce back year. Congrats to him on making the team.

Third best SS OPS in baseball.

You not liking him is your issue, and speaks nothing of how good or bad Starlin Castro is as a player.

His error total at SS is not great, but there are several players with higher error totals, and 6 others with 10 or 11 errors.

Usually a young player like Castro hits a bump like he did last season. The good ones recover and get better the flukes fade away(He Sop Choi or He Flung Poo). Castro so far has proven that he will be the player everyone expected he could become.

It wasn't one year. It was a 1.5 year slide.

The reason he is near the top for SS in offensive production is that most teams realize that SS is a defense first position. This will be an issue when the games matter.

Many teams wish they could get offense from their SS position. Castro isn't a defensive liability. He just isn't Ozzie Smith.
