nothing worries me.

what nobody is talking about (hi hub!) is maddon still has his ace up his sleeve. he has yet to bring out the magician this year.

so say cubs inexplicably are down in a playoff series. magician. boom. comeback. world series.

That's actually a great point. I didn't even realize it till you mentioned it earlier.

I feel good about the team going into the playoffs. As good as in 1984 when they were clearly the best team in the NL.

But, it occurred to me as I was listening to a podcast this morning - ironically it was a Packers fan talking about Super Bowl wins and losses - that something does now worry me.

What if winning a World Series isn't that great? I'm sure it's pretty great. Yes, preemptive 2005.

But, losing all these times. Getting that close has been gut-wrenching. Just awful stuff. What if winning isn't as great as losing was awful? What if I've wasted 40 years of emotion on a "that was pretty cool" moment?

This might be the worst ending to a movie of all time. What if I'm watching the baseball version of Stripes?

That now worries me.

This isn't anything to worry about. It will be BETTER than you think it will be.

I liked the joke better when I made it on page 2 of this thread.

I'm not worried about anybody in the NL, The Rangers, Indians and Jays worry me though..Cahill and Montero can't be on the Post season roster.

Maybe you become like the Red Sox.

Just another franchise with douchebag fans.

We already have douchebag fans... I'd like the World Series titles to go along with them.

Maybe it won't be as fun to be a douchebag fan as it was to be a douchebag Bulls fan in the '90s.

It's a concern.

It's likely you will care a lot less about the team once they win the World Series.

My worry is that my son will be like me with the 85 Bears. I was only 2 when they won, he is 6. Not a lot of memories remain from when you are 6 years old. I can say that I was alive for a Bears SuperBowl but I don't remember any of it. I doubt I watched anything more than the superbowl shuffle.

For once, Rick and I agree about the Cubs.

The 85 Bears were the best team in the NFL that season. Great defense won it for them. Poor head coach. Give Don Shula that team and he wins several Super Bowls. Mid 80's Dolphins problem was they could score 45 but give up 50.

However nothing worries me about the 2016 Cubs. They will win the World Series.
