I think the shitbag team he is referring to is the Brewers, not the Cubs.

What have I been telling you folks? Things are going to be OK, and now look, everything is just fine. This Cubs team is the best team in baseball. Period. And it has been a pleasure being able to watch it.

Derrek Lee silenced his critics today with an explosive performance, when it mattered most. He is clutch, as is one Geo Soto, who proved again what a dynamic force he is in the lineup. He is the best young catcher to come along since Johnny Bench. I am sure that today's drama will really put him in heavy consideration for MVP this season. How about that Ramirez? What a phenomenal talent, and he proves it almost every day. More fantastic pitching today from Kerry Wood also, he really looks like he has it all together.

This team is stacked, and with Lou leading the charge, we have no reason to doubt that this team will not only win the division, they will be the NL champions, win the world series, SWEEP the world series, and every game will be a shutout along the way. It is obvious.

So you see? Everything is OK. Now it is officially time to

Relax. Relax. Relax.

Relax don't do it
When you want to go to it
Relax don't do it
When you want to come
Relax don't do it
When you want to come
When you want to come

Relax don't do it
When you want to to go to it
Relax don't do it
When you want to come
Relax don't do it
When you want to suck to it
Relax don't do it
When you want to come
Come-oh oh oh

But shoot it in the right direction
Make making it your intention-ooh yeah
Live those dreams
Scheme those schemes
Got to hit me
Hit me
Hit me with those laser beams

I'm coming
I'm coming-yeah

Relax don't do it
When you want to go to it
Relax don't do it
When you want to come

Relax don't do it
When you want to suck to it
Relax don't do it (love)
When you want to come
When you want to come
When you want to come
Come-huh

Get it up
The scene of love
Oh feel it

Relax
Higher higher

Hey-

Hot diggity DAMN! I know they're going to the playoffs, but to be able to have the bats pick up the pen... that's gratifying. Get the clinch in before I take my wife (devout Cards fan) to the game on Sunday. That way, who gives a fuck if the Cubs lose, I'll be off my diet for an afternoon of dogs and suds. God bless the Red line.

[Reverend Wright]No, God Damn the Red Line![/Reverend Wright]

Seriously though, I love the Red Line, but the construction situation going at the moment is utterly ridiculous.

The hitting has been real impressive since that first game.

I think Lou should let these guys know they haven't won shit yet. Clinch first, then coast the rest of the year.

You were saying????

Actually, I think Lou did have that talk already and they have won 6 of 7 since that lil chat. Including this, their 21st comeback win of the season. 92 wins, 33 games over .500, the magic number to clinch home field throughout the playoffs (up to the WS) is down to 2. Yep, its all good. 8)

Hope you guys switched back. 4 runs in the ninth with 2 out and no one on.

I heard the update on ESPN that the Cubs scored four to tie it in the 9th and that they were currently in the 11th inning. So as I wouldn't jinx them again, I stayed with ESPN. I got in the car to leave work and turned on the game really quick and play was still going on so I turned back to ESPN. During the commercial break I switched back to the game just in time for Lee's at bat. Nothing like going crazy in the car driving down 355. :D
