I am watching the replay on Comcast and twice, in the 8th, Hawk blamed the runs on one missed call on Soriano. Forget the error and all the bad pitches made by Linebrink, it was the fault of the Umpire. I give Stoney a lot of grief at times, but at least he did not participate in Hawk's whining about the Ump.
Both of these teams are a big bag of suck, btw.

Yeah...Hawk is the worst. It is truly amazing. I would say that Stone was not "all in" with Hawk...but he was not "all out" either. Stone is in a bad spot when they show replay after replay of every pitch and Hawk ALWAYS has his SOX slant going....It puts Stone in a tough spot to offer any real-truthful color analysis.

When he broadcast for the Cubs Stone would say in this situation that the umpire didn't throw those meat pitches to Lee and Soto.

And the call was borderline. Yes it was a strike but the pitcher could have thrown a strike on the next pitch.

And I hate the idea that one pitch changed the game. How do they know the next batters would have done the same thing they did? They might have hit 10 straight homeruns.

On the game itself this could be a turning point. Sometimes a victory like this sends a team on a streak. This reminds me of the Brewers game in 07 with Ramirez's walk off that set them on their way.

But for the Sox fans the flipside is this is the kind of game that can send a team into a tailspin.

Does it mean that Kevin Gregg will be pitching? Other than that, what does it mean?

Darkside, that usually means Gregg blows the save...

In a 5-5 game, there is a save to blow????NOT!!!!! But Gregg did his job, unlike Line.....brink of disaster. That must have been painful to the Sox fans. What a thrilling come from behind victory for Cub Fans though. I have to say, I was wondering why Ozzie didn't bring in Dotel, as he had not pitched the previous day and chose to bring in Linebrink, who had just pitched the day before. But it all worked out nicely. Hopefully, now the Cubs can string together a bunch of wins and get this season going in a more positive direction.

huge home run by d lee. 15 game hit streak. ive been seeing a lot less lee bitching lately with good reason. he continues to prove he is still a solid hitter.

I think Ozzie got cocky with the whole Linebrink thing. He didn't think the Cubs could rally. Why would he?

I said before the game even started that Linebrink was bad, and that him coming into the game could be bad news for the Sox.

antonelli, I was on vacation with no internet access from Thursday later afternoon thru Sunday am. Not that I need to justify myself to you, or any other Cub fan asshole.

Translated: I just spent money on a vacation (3 1/2 days??-where did he go, the Dells?)and I'm in a pissed off mood, because despite the money I spent, I still couldn't get laid

Just to bring you up to speed frank, the Cubs came back from a 7-0 defeceit, to beat the Sox 8-7. Derek Lee hit a 3 run Homer and Soto followed it with a solo shot-both off Line...brink of disaster. but it was Matt Thornton, who took the loss getting touched for the winning run in the 9th. Great game!!!

Subtle as always steve.

Just to bring you up to speed 'Giant Cubs Fan'. you got your games all mixed up. The deficit against the Sox was 5-1, not 7-0. That was the Cleveland game on Friday. Unless you know a new rule that allows a 3-run HR and a solo HR to equal 7 runs.

You really do embarrass the rest of us sometimes.

Guys, don't you remember what an intolerable ass Steve was during Cub/Sox week last year? Made me duck for cover, and that's friendly fire.
But look, with the exception of Cubs/Sox week, Steve ain't that bad.
He does get under Sox skin though. I thought that you Pierzynski fans would understand.

He's just a dumbass. I almost feel sorry for him....almost. I'm a fully admitted meatball, but at least I know that the Sox lost game #2 more so than the Cubs won it.
