You take cheap shots at me because of my movie review of a movie you did not see!

Doug disagreed with me,too. Did I attack him? look at the Gravity thread...you are a prick and just about everybody on here realizes that. Go take a long drive in your Honda Clit.

Hey dumby...go back and look at that thread. I actually disagreed with doug...

I thought the movie would NOT be worth my time. Which would have put me on your side...but see...I didn't even really address you in that thread. I was speaking to doug...and you were chiming in.
;

your 180 degree comment? I come on here and I expect to get ripped for my Cub thoughts even though I'm right. But man,I get ripped for a fucking movie review? Hey,go see it. I didn't hate it,but I thought it was just "meh".

Renteria continues to be the guy most speculated. Don't know enough about him but if he can relate/teach/develop the young talent, and communicate in their language, then that's a plus.

I'd think this week is decision week. Lovullo is supposedly due in if the BoSox grant permission.

At least Svuem is gone, but if Renteria is the guy, let's hope he not only knows how to develop young talent, but he also can handle vets, run a bullpen, knows the X's and O's, etc.

 Can you imagine the way the press would cover it if Kenny Williams fucked something up like this? This is almost as bad as when Kenny traded for the wrong guy.

Of course you're right, jimmy. If intelligence was actually important, teams wouldn't be hiring guys who played baseball as a career at all.

Obviously not important to the Cubs: See AJ Hinch

Not the point...this is something they should have known as they were creating their short list even before Sveum was fired...like Angelo checking the wrong box, or not phoning in a trade or whatever that GM of the blackhawks did in that god forsaken ice soccer sport.

Maybe they thought the Red Sox would waive it in the name of the guy getting his first Managing gig?

No excuse, but questionable move by the Red Sox, I think

Will they wait until the Friday after Thanksgiving to limit the damage from this disaster process and hire?

This is the second targeted candidate in this search who they had no ability to get either for reasons they should have forseen.

Again, there is just too much ham handedness in the work across the Cubs organization since Ricketts took over.

There's a gentleman's agreement across all major sports where a team will allow one of their coaches/coordinators to interview for Head Coach/Managerial gigs.

There's a clause in the deal that sent Theo to the Cubs that limits Boston guys moving to Chicago in terms of lateral movements.

Larry Lucchino is just being an asshole, but I agree it doesn't make the Cubs look good.

That clause was supposed to keep Theo from raiding the current front office and field staff. Lovullo wasn't on the red sox until last season. This is a huge dickhead move by lucchino. Why would anyone keep a guy from interviewing for a promotion you know you won't be giving him yourself any time in the near or distant future.

You must be a real miserable prick to do this after your team just won the world series. You are the best in the world and you give a shit about one of the worst teams in baseball?

So they blew it big on Ryne Sandberg, then got clowned on Joe Girardi, then got clowned on Brad Ausmus, now they're not allowed to interview a Red Sox coach. I don't see how this doesn't end up with them getting fucking A.J. Hinch. I don't know if it's as bad as the Dave McGinnis incident. It's at least as bad as the 76ers going four months without hiring a coach to the point where everyone was kind of sidelong-glancing at one another and wondering if the 76ers were even going to bother fielding a team this year.

Didn't Theo leave the Red Sox both times because Larry Lucchino was a dickhead?

It's definitely a jerk-off move by the Red Sox. In fact, I'm not even sure it's legal to prevent a guy from taking a promotion elsewhere. The problem for Lovullo is that if he pushes that issue and the Cubs don't hire him, where is he then? Probably on the shit list of a bunch of old boy's club owners.

From what I read, they are debating it. I think he signed something that said he couldn't pull anyone with whom he worked with. I don't think Lovullo was technically there when Theo was there, so it's debatable.

I know the Cubs are pathetic, but is the position of Cubs manager considered lateral to BoSox bench coach?

Fuck Larry Lucchino. Way to stop a guy a chance for a promotion just because you and Theo are playing roshamboe. Asshats.
