He's got 20 now in his big league career, so a bit more likely than a No-Hitter. Just a smidge.

Not only are we turning him into a Ben Zobrist type, but we went out and got the real Ben Zobrist to aid in the procedure.

Get accustomed to it, he blows. The frustrating thing about this buster is that draft was loaded..

He has shown vast improvement since his first call up a couple years ago. He may end up being a solid starter at some point. Not sure if it will be with the Cubs, though.

Yes he has. That is what young talented players with good instruction do quite often. Good thing the Cubs didn't get stupid and trade him for some half assed pitcher as some on this board would have had them do. He could become the everyday 3rd baseman with Bryant moving to left at some point, or the everyday 2nd baseman after Zobrist retires. Until then, he is a valuable utility guy and back-up at several positions.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. He still has lots of work to do. He is a utility guy, but he is not very good at any of those positions. Maddon and the Cubs kiss his ass about how good defensively he is because they want to keep his confidence up. The truth is he is average to below average at most of those positions. He certainly has the talent to be above average at multiple positions, especially in the infield, but he still needs quite a bit of work.

I thought the opposite field homerun to sinch up a playoff series showed a fair amount of power.

Sounds like a Jose Abreu home run pace.

He hasn't lost power, he's taking a different approach in order to cut way back on strikeouts. With less than 2 strikes I believe when the weather warms, you will see plenty of pop from Baez. But I'm happy to see him cutting back on strikeouts and putting the ball in play more, especially with 2 strikes. Back to back GAMES with walks......getting close.....

I forgot about the old weather warming thing. I'll try to remember that next time

You gotta let this April 28th ops thing go, David Ross is around 1000 ops... Both will plummet, relax.

Now you guys are just talking out of your ass, most of his swings are swinging as hard as he possibly can..he will never be a power hitter in the majors..this ain't the pacific coast league.

Another 2 hit game for Baez (2 for 2) . His average is up to .310 with a.355 OBP and .838 OPS.
