Words and numbers and charts brought together in an attempt to try to convey the idea that Jake's maybe coming around. We'll know in another month or so.

As they say in the business, "There's a reason they call it a career year."

This is more than likely the real Jake and the one we'll get from here on out. Still a very good starting pitcher, but he's just not in that "Kershaw" level conversation anymore.

That was a good article. I don't know that it makes me feel any better, but it's a good analysis.

Correct. He's a good starting pitcher that got a second lease on life by retreating to the NL. Definitely no Kershaw or Sale. That's for sure.

Because of that Cubs fans should be very worried about the post-season.

Yeah, instead of three of the lowest ERA starters in the NL, we only have 2. What ever will we do with another 17 win pitcher?!?!

Arrietta still scares me in the playoffs.

Your false bravado and flippant machismo is a weak attempt to hide your true feelings, Hank. Your chest beating will turn to meat beating using your tears as lube when the Cubs are sent packing.

He should. Gets spotted leads and has the one blow up inning .

Jake will also be going up against the other teams #3. Cubs are going to roll.

Yep.

He'll be Freddy Garcia/Jon Garland for the Cubs World Series run.

I would kill for a run like the Sox had. Never really in doubt but enough close games to still get your adrenaline pumping.

Seems to be a six innings pitcher which means Strop Rondon and Champman which worries me a bit less

Problem with the idea of the Cubs facing the number 3 starter is if that actually turns out to be a number 1 starter due to that team using said pitcher in the wildcard game.

I'm OK with that too because then you have Lester up against a 3. Either way I like the matchup. Jake will give you a chance to win regardless of who he faces. He isn't a no doubt win every time he goes out there but few people are. Kershaw is a beast in the regular season and shits down his leg in the playoffs.

So the thing that should worry the Cubs the most is one of their top three starters is going to be a guy who allows the fewest hits per nine innings in the NL?

Notice taken.

No, that's why I play it safe and say Jake.

He's the one that spells it wrong.
