This Fuck can't even lay down a decent bunt? He is right now,the biggest bust the Cubs ever signed and second place isn't close!

The next round ,put Almora,Coughlin & Soler rotating in LF with Zobrist in RF.

Almora is the team's best in CF. It should be Almora in CF, with Fowler in LF and Coghlan, Soler or Zobrist in RF. Next year fans will come to recognize Almora is not just a gold glove outfielder, but perhaps the best outfielder in baseball. But you are right, Heyward should not play except as a defensive replacement late in games.

Even Kevin James movie career was more entertaining than watching Cub hitters slump through that series. Let's not turn a blind eye to the fact for the most part, they sucked through the first round.

Heyward needs to grab bench!

I AM hoping they win and expect bigger things in the next round.

He looks pretty special in that OF but not sure if his hitting matches up yet.

Paisano, not only did we win and advance but we get at least four more chances to hear the Speigs/Tributo Cubs Score song.

If that doesn't help cheer you up, I don't know what will...

He hit .277 a point higher than Fowler, who hit .276

Almora isn't even the best outfielder on his own team.

That's a great call. Heyward may suck as a hitter, but he plays great defense, usually runs the bases well and has never caused problems off the field and is considered a great teammate.

Yes he is. You will see next season how exceptional he is. Fowler will not be missed in the field one bit.

He was so exceptional this year that he played the majority of his games in Iowa.

And wasn't added to the expanded September roster until about 7-10 days after LaStella. I agree he has potential, but let's not get carried away.

When the season began, he wasn't ready. By the time he was, Fowler was off to an All-Star 1st half. His being in Iowa had more to do with having Fowler off to a great start and just signing an outfielder to a 184 million dollar contract, than Almora not being good enough. Again.....you will see next season. The best outfielder in Cubs history Albert Almora.

Agreed. That is why I didn't want him signed. But it makes him a better guy to have on the team than Milton Bradley was. That was all I was saying in that post.

I think I can safely say that Almora is not, nor will he ever be anything close to Mike Trout. Trout is beyond a generational player at this point in his career. He is a/an historic player. Almora could turn into a HOF'er and not be in the same league as Trout.

You cannot safely say it, until you can make an educated assessment. After next season, you will have the opportunity to make such a judgment. Yes, Trout is a historic talent.

The one time Elmhurst Steve doesn't make an obvious prediction and he ends up going with Almora = Mike Trout?

I've found comparing players to Mike Trout to be a losing proposition.

DEFENSIVELY .......lets not stretch this into Almora is the equal of Trout all around. I think Almora will be a decent hitter with a little pop, but nowhere near Trout offensively.

Uhh....Mike Trout isn't even a star defensively. Yes, he has robbed some HR...but his range and arm are below average.

If Almora only has Mike Trout level defense and the bat we expect him to have (.750 OPS?)... he certainly isn't a starter.

Oh, so it was an obvious prediction. My mistake.
