Back in the early 2000s I was dealing poker in Tunica, MS....it was a big tournament and to my surprize the ordinarily stoic poker players were actually paying attention to the Miami/Cub playoff series. When the Bartman incident happened the joint went berserk. So many players abandoned their seats to get closer to the TVs the we had to stop the clock!
Point is: there are fair weather fans that only watch the post season action, and down here it's all about college football and hoops. But this tourney was made up of visitors from all over the country and they were ALL aware of the Cubs delima! I was in the break room when Wood hit his HR in the next game and I could hear the roar from the crowd a hundred feet and 2 walls away. It was amazing.
Damn near everyone in the country is ready to see you guys get it done. OMG the game tonight is a must win as critical as any game seven I can remember! Good luck, Boys.
