Part of this years tanking strategy again I'd imagine is trading throw away relievers who are doing somewhat decent. The relievers era ranks 26th now. 2nd half will be comically bad. Hopefully Heyward gets some token AB to watch his stats sink even more.

the cubs are always bad optics, regardless of opponent. rivas & ortega in the starting 11 is a bad optic. gomes & simmons hitting, is a bad optic. never mind about the pitching and others.

i didn't think the orioles were a +500 club, but they smell blood in the water. they know what sucks and they know the cubs suck and have the capability of sweeping the season series.

Mully was boasting the other day that the Cubs are near .500 in division. Failing to mention how weak it is.
