Front page story in the Times today about how Boras thinks Arrietta is just fine and is basically just ignoring all the numbers that say he's been mediocre for the better part of a year now.

For the love of God, put Schwarber on the 10-day DL retroactive to whenever, and give him the 3 weeks of rehab you get without exercising an option.

Just send him down. He is embarrassingly bad.

I am really, really glad the Cubs won the Series last year. Cause it's not gonna happen this year.

And now we will see if Epstoyer can admit they are wrong on Babe F'ing Ruth.

What's more sickening is most of the media and beat writers continue caping for him. "Oh he's been making better contact, hitting in tough luck, and every other fucking excuse instead of saying he's been awful , looks awful and needs to be sent down . It's ridiculous. I appreciate what he did in the Series last year and he's far from being the sole reason this team sucks this year but he's run out of any goodwill he earned from the playoffs last year and it needs to be addressed .

Your boy Silvy is the worst of the bunch, pretty much says in his lispy voice that he won a WS so stfu and who cares what he does the next decade.

I think a nice package deal of Shwarbs,Arrieta & Baez could bring back at least 2 young starters.

Arrietta and Schwarber value has never been lower.

Their play this year does not affect their value. Just ask JORR

Arrieta has to have almost no value. He'd be a rental, and as of right now a bad one.

His take was more " he hasn't even played a full major league season and after what he did last year people want him out of the lineup after 2 bad months, why not have patience with him?" .Yes, it's a bad take .

Cueto will be available soon. I would offer Addy and possibly Happ. Addy is what he is we have seen the sample size. Schwarbs needs dealt to the AL. David Price? But what will be the price....LOL. Cubs have chips to trade or do they just wait until off season or deadline? 81-81 would look good now as constructed they are what they are. A .500 team.

One or the other plus low level talent. Fuck off. Cubs could also have a longer deal worked out in the trade scenario.

How about they just sign Cueto outright when he opts out in the winter.

That would be fine if I was assured they were going to finish .500. But they won't. And might be able to make a better deal now when they need starting pitching.

I'd rather see em stay the course n win 84 games this year as opposed to panicking and trading away young cost controlled future talent for a shot at this years playoffs.

I tend to agree but if the right deals can be made why not? Giants not real smart they signed Shark for chrissakes.

You must not listen to AM1000 a lot, because he has not said this.

Are we down to 84 wins now? So much for the cocky Cub fan.

Don't worry. The Cubs play the Reds again in about 10 days so they should be able to fatten up a bit.

Looks like Theo needs to clean house and start from scratch again. Rebuild II is imminent.

The Cubs aren't trading current MLB starters in season and most teams they would trade with are looking for minor league players with the full six years of control.

They will be fine. They are still the favorites to win the division (I would say heavy favorites) and then you are in the playoff crapshoot. They have more than enough talent to get hot and make noise in October.
