The Blue Jays offered Roy Halliday straight up for Gordon Beckham.

At the height of Bacon-Mania, I compared him to Kevin Orie. I took the slings and arrows.

Avg. 162 game season -

Beckham - .239/12/56
Orie - .249/11/59

I declare victory.

That’s something. The Orie and Zimmer thing. At least he fared better than Gary Scott.

And Lefebvre and Sveum and that's only 10 deep. I'll bet Jim Essian is in there somewhere.

Agree. DID. NOT. HAPPEN.

The Jays were probably trying to trick KW and offered some bum named Roy Holiday.

I don’t think he or Bruce Kim managed that. But if they did...

I think Doc is on to something. Or on something. Not sure yet.

That is right at the beginning my my baseball memories. 2 years later and I’d probably remember.

He was not much of an offensive threat.

I remember those jerseys. But I was like 5, I think our only tv at the time was a black and white 13” zenith with rabbit ears.

I don't think b&w mattered back then with the Sox.

They didn't get color until Carlton and Tom showed up.

The Halladay thing is true. You wonder how that could've worked out for the Sox had they done it.

I dont doubt the Sox wanted Halladay, but I dont believe the Jays offered him straight up for Beckham

I had about 300 of those cards. Kimm and Dan Dressen. Every single pack.

My man. Ours had two separate antennae but yours is close enough. Saw a lot of Cubs, DePaul, and MLB Games of the Week watched on that thing.

Herman Franks has to be #18.

I can still hear Brickhouse say ‘here comes Herman’ when Franks would waddle out to the mound for a pitching change.

Hey, Hey...

I honestly think back in the day I heard more games on radio than I watched in TV. There are days I still prefer baseball on radio.

My parents finally acquiesced to a color tv when they couldn’t get baby sitters anymore without one.

Heard of a bag of balls for a player, but an urn of ashes? That's harsh.

That would have been a fantastic deal for the Blue Jays since you proclaimed Beckham to be a future HOF'er.

Rfdc called him Paul Molitor. Terry Boers wouldn't trade him for Adrian Gonzalez.
