Maybe that is where Lester is pitching. Having Minor pitch to his own hitters probably will not be beneficial for the Cub.

Nah, Rangers suck and are too left handed. He'll be good. The pounding will come in start 2 or 3

2019 Cubs - Win Division.

Craig Counsell's bullpen destruction results in Brewers slippage. Cubs win with a neutered manager.

Having interleague games to start the season basically takes what miniscule novelty of having interleague games away. Just go ahead and bring in the DH across the board already and do a complete realignment at this point.

I think this is highly possible, but I think talent does play the bigger factor.....this still is a very good roster and odds are the pull it together in spite of Theo's rule changes and Joe's insanity.

I came to this conclusion last season...I completely agree.

I think it's better having 2 separate leagues with different rules on DH. Interleague as a specific window of time in middle of season made for a cool change of pace. They completely watered it down and ruined the appeal of interleague play. Might as well just be one league with 2 identical conferences going forward.

Was hoping for NL DH this season so I don't have to see the pitcher bat 8th ever again.

As long as he keeps 1-5 consistent throughout the season Maddon could make it all 162 games.

I compromised in the thread. I define part time as more like 350-400 but I get some would have a higher threshold

 It really makes no sense. I don't care if there is a lefty starting or not. Kyle Schwarber (unless on the DL) should be the DH 100% of the time the Cubs play in an AL park.

Joe will bring in Schwarber as a late inning defensive replacement.

Well, Zagunis made the team to play against lefties.

Will Zagunis ever get a home run ball he hits off a lefty encased in Plexiglass?

Way to limit his trade value to AL clubs, Joe!

That home run is one of my favorite memories as a Cub fan. I wish it was still up there.

I never understood this. He was like the only guy who could hit the unhittable Andrew Miller during the WS, but for some reason they won't let him try to hit lefties now. Just let him play.

Schwarber had two at bats against Miller. Strike out and double play.
